Leyland Adventures Chapter Seven: Part Five

"I want everything you've learned throughout your years on Leyland, a queen doesn't show mercy."

That thought repeated in her mind, Aradressa was the opposite of what she was supposed to be, however she carried the intelligence of her mother and the strength and kindness of her father. He was the reason Aradressa was the soft-spoken princess she was.

Without the weight of hesitation, she picked up her confidence and charged towards her mother, shield and sword in hand. She swung her blade fiercely at her mother as the wind rode it. Unimpressed, Marissa caught the attack as wind nearly uprooted the nearby trees before throwing her daughter away.

Aradressa rushed towards her mother to unleash a series of attacks. Marissa guarded against her attempts before dodging the attack and kicking her away. The princess stood her guard as Marissa launched her own attacks, energy beams that acted as light-speed lasers. Aradressa continued to block and reflect her attacks just has Marissa did.

Her mother could see the burning fire within her eyes, the spirit of a powerful warrior. "You're holding back, as a psychic-type fairy, I can tell."

Aradressa seized her attack to reply. "I don't like the idea of hurting you anymore..."

"Then you'll like the idea of Cynthia killing us if you're not prepared. I know you're stronger than me, it's just that I have counters for your attacks. That's why I gave you a sword in the first place, to produce new fighting styles."

"I...still don't enjoy the thought of fulfilling your wishes of death."

"Aradressa, what if she collects all the gemstones? We both know that she'll reach ultimate power and take over the galaxy. You mustn't forget that Peoria grants the wish of anyone...no matter how they intend to use it. She's already gotten a handful in the past and who knows how many she has now."

Aradressa stared at her sword and shield, her reflection beaming with anger.

"I don't want to see this land fall to her knees. You and Tysashi still have to catch up to the gemstones she has so that if she does make that wish, you two can stop her."

"I- I understand."

"Before we continue...you realize her death is necessary to protect you right? There are sick people on this planet and Cynthia is just the beginning. One day, someone is going to wish for maximum power and if you're not strong enough to handle it...everything you know will be reduced to ashes and that's not a future I desire. In order to get something, you have to give something. What do you want?"

"Our planet to remain peaceful and Tysashi to be protected."

"Then you must give your hesitation and emotions away to get peace. Cynthia will only give her sanity and kindness for power. I'll continue once we're finished, let's see how you handle on the defensive side." Marissa flew like a bullet towards her and began with heavy physical attacks.

Aradressa rose her shield to block the attacks as she attempted to look for an open area, however she was completely pinned down. Instead of finding an open area, Aradressa caught her arm and attacked with a powerful burst of fire. The smoke ran off Marissa's slender figure as she emerged from the debris and took Aradressa off the ground, carrying her above the clouds.

Marissa sent an army of energy orbs that targeted Aradressa. She blocked and reflected the attack with shield before combining the orbs with her fire. Marissa simply caused the orbs to explode. Appearing from the smoke, Aradressa came over with a flaming fist. The queen held an open palm as she held her fist, causing the clouds around them to disperse. It was truly a battle of the goddesses. However, this bout was ended early as a familiar butler received a message meant for the princess, a phone call from a memorized number.

Gleefully, she came back down with her mother behind her. Despite her age, a powerful smile heavily desired to be plastered on her face.

"Fayemi?"

"Heyyyyy, girl! Did you miss me?"

"Of course I did, how's your vacation so far?"

"It's been freaking amazing! The food is godly, the activities are endless, the boys give me whatever I want, life is good."

"Well, I'm happy everything is going fine."

"Hell yeah, girl! Anyway, any new updates in your life?"

"Well...something very unique happened. But it's a surprise, you'll know when you return."

"Oooo, interesting, I won't be waiting long since I'm coming home soon. Anyway, I have to go, there's a surf competition going on and the winner gets unlimited amounts of seafood for the night! See ya!"

"Bye."

The call ended as Aradressa's face brightened with joy.

"So Fayemi is returning soon, that's wonderful to hear. That girl has a personality so that bright that'd it make stars jealous." Marissa stated before walking back into the castle to prepare dinner, leaving her daughter outside with the balding butler. The two, as always, offered to help with the preparations. Unsurprisingly, she only requested that the two relax and just wait patiently.
