Leyland Adventures Chapter Five: Part One

"His whereabouts is undisclosed to me, honey." Marissa stated, serving breakfast.

"I haven't seen him since I woke up, no explanations of his mysterious absence was left for me. Have any of the guards noticed him?"

"Not that I'm aware of. Wherever he is, he shouldn't attract too much peril. He'll return eventually, though I expect your tasks to be completed."

While her head bobbed, a mild knock was detected. Upon opening the door, Tysashi stepped in to set a stuffed plastic bag on the golden-cream granite countertop. He proudly announced his return. Aradressa collided her narrow body into his with open arms, affixing herself to him. The impossibly delightful aroma of petrichor danced in his nostrils as she steadily increased her grip.

Marissa dived through the bag, uncovering bubbling liquids in oddly shaped glass bottles. Tysashi spotted her actions, stating he bought potions as a surprise.

"These aren't potions. It's soda."

He came to a standstill for a second to inspect the products. Aradressa released him as he took a sip; waves of cherry-flavored soda gathered inside the mouth before sliding down his throat.

"Your underdeveloped knowledge was exploited, how much did you spend?"

"About sixty dollars."

Marissa exhaled a breath of relief. "At least you were offered soda instead of a dangerous chemical. Please consider caution when finding yourself in this unpredictable situation again."

"My apologies. It won't happen again, your majesty." He arched his back forward.

"You and Aradressa will be collecting some fruits for me today. She'll inform you of your shared duties and if you wish to eat, please do so."

"Thank you, but I found a great bakery on my way back. I'm ready to go!" He shouted joyously, showcasing his pearly-white teeth.

She returned his infectiously positive attitude, cheerfully waving as they departed.

Aradressa relayed their objectives, obtaining a variety of fruits. Their tasks are as followed: Gather a Tropical Miku Berry, banana, and Sangoro Fruit. Since the banana is the nearest option, the kindred duo commenced the walk to the Kula Outlet.

Arriving in the populated area, swarms of fairies huddled around Tysashi. A plethora of questions emerged, some of which he answered. He received a truckload of compliments about his strength and durability. Aradressa smiled as she considered this as their apologies for mistreating him.

"Thank you all! I appreciate all your support and would love to answer more questions, but I really need to buy a banana." He announced, glancing over a sea of heads.

Suddenly, a smiling woman of questionable age swam through the sea to donate the item he required. Her soulful eyes zoomed in on his spotless face and charming gaze.

"I just purchased this, but I want you to have it!" Much like a schoolgirl obsessed with a popular boyband, she squealed.

"Thanks!" He cheered.

Proceeding onward to Palm Tree Beach, he waved to his adoring followers.

"Phew, it seems they're learning to appreciate me now," he realized.

"Definitely. By the way, how did you overcome Grave Digger?"

"Oh, I tripped on a stalagmite, and he tried decapitating me with enormous diamond shards. In the heat of the moment, I threw my fist into his rib cage. Even though I won, I think I went a little too hard on the poor guy. I don't routinely hold hatred or disrespect during a matchup against an opponent I've never fought before."

"Do you believe they'll come after you?" She wondered.

"Most likely. If they do, I'll use what I've learned and defeat them quickly."

"I see. Our upcoming destination shouldn't be much more distant; we'll reach the ends of the Kula Outlet after we pass Rosin Center Park." He grinned at her statement while their bodies drew in one another.

The two soon gazed upon a monumental stone statue fountain of a female fairy. Equipped with a legendary sword and shield held to her sides, she donned a cumbrous dress of bewitching armor with loose, lengthened hair hanging behind her.

"That's Rosin. She fought in the cataclysmic wars during the Queens' War and Reconstruction Period of the Kula Region when my mother endeavored to make peace with our enemies. She's recognized as an extraordinary hero and a consequential part of our history."

"Reconstruction Period?" He questioned, shifting his eyes from the fountain to face her.

"The Reconstruction Period describes the events following my mother's victory. Demolished buildings were rebuilt, environments were replenished, and new laws became implemented. Many locations ingrained different mindsets which spawned significant wars. In short, the region was altered. You reflect much of Rosin's character as you're both heroic and kind."

Grinning, his attention turned to the glistening blue water. Aradressa viewed the water alongside him. They stood in silence, losing themselves in the water before moving on. She left the fountain as Tysashi stayed behind. A clear reflection of a familiar character in the water appeared, smiling at him.

"L- Lennon?"

Lennon reached out for him, tears flowing from his eyes with a precious smile. Tysashi reached out to grab his hand, only to witness his brother become distorted from the ripples of the water. He sighed, coming back to reality.

"Sorry about that Aradressa, let's continue."
