"This is the Alberich estate," the servant guided Diluc into the main room. "Master Pierro and Young Master Kaeya," she gestured, closing the door behind her.
"Hm," Pierro eyed him up and down, walking over to him to clutch his chin and shove his face up to get a good look at it. "What was your name?"
"Diluc....Sir..."
"Right," Pierro pulled his hand back and rubbed it on a handkerchief as if he touched something disgusting. "From this day forward you are to live in this house but do not think for one second that I think of you as one of my own," he spat.
"Yes, Sir."
"You will live among the servants, be treated as a servant, expect nothing more." He walked around and stood behind Kaeya, placing his hands on the boy's shoulders. "Outside these walls, you are my adopted grandson whom I love very much. Put on a good show for the world and I will not send you to the alpha houses." His eyes shot daggers into Diluc. "I know not what you are but if you lay a hand on my grandson, you'll get worse than those houses, boy."
Pierro knelt down and rested his hand on Kaeya's head. "Shout for me if anything happens, okay?"
"Grandfather, you worry too much," Kaeya smiled brightly.
"Promise me."
"Yes, yes," Kaeya shrugged, shaking his head. "I promise."
Pierro stood up and looked behind him once more before closing the door. Silence filled the air until Kaeya made the first move. He stepped forward and Diluc stepped back.
"Aiya, I'm not going to hurt you," Kaeya scratched his cheek. "My grandfather is a bit intimidating, I know, but once you earn his trust he won't despise you so much. You're not the only one who lost your parents recently, m'kay?" he smiled again and held out his hand. Diluc stepped back a second time.
"I don't want to go to the houses," Diluc took another step back. "Please get away from me..." he muttered.
Kaeya blinked, not understanding. "Oh," he held his chin and covered his mouth with his fingers to hide the smile. "Grandfather didn't mean it that way...but if you didn't understand what he meant perhaps I shouldn't tell you."
"Is it okay...to touch you?" Diluc stepped forward, lifting his hand awkwardly.
"You've heard the stories of the past, yes? Before the omegas ruled the world?" Kaeya stepped forward, placing Diluc's hand on his chest. "Grandfather is concerned about a different time. No need to worry, truly."
...
"Young Master," Diluc held his face in his hand, groaning. "How many times must I tell you not to strut around in only a blanket?"
"Aha, but Diluc," Kaeya held out his arms and twirled around. "It's like a cloak! Besides, this isn't anything you haven't seen before," he wrapped himself up in the blanket and looked over his shoulder, allowing the blanket to fall down his arm.
"What we did as children is not the same as now!" Diluc's face snapped up, veins popping out of his forehead. "You must think more of your status, Young Master. Your grandfather is to return home within the week. If he sees-"
Kaeya turned around and placed his finger on Diluc's mouth. "Don't remind me. He's going to make you wear the muzzle. I don't want to think about it."
Diluc grabbed his wrist and pulled his arm away from his mouth. "I'm an alpha, Young Master, it is only right that I do. Especially now that we're older."
"But...the alpha houses are such a terrible sight...I don't want to send you there," Kaeya frowned, resting his hand on his cheek. He brushed strands of Diluc's hair behind his ear. "Hm," Kaeya closed his eyes, moving his arms to hug Diluc. "Did anyone ever tell you that you smell like delicious grapes?" he asked, nuzzling his face in Diluc's neck.
