Prince Kaeya this. Prince Kaeya that. He'd been fawned over his entire life and was sick and tired of it. No one told him to his face what they genuinely thought of him. They wouldn't dare talk back against the only prince of Khaenri'ah.

"It's time to choose your personal knight, Milord."

Kaeya waved his hand, not sitting on his throne properly, and watched the men enter. They lined up in such a way that he could see them all. Meh. Not cute. Super ugly. What was happening to that one's outfit? Oh, hello

Kaeya stood up and walked down to face him. He was slightly shorter. His hair was a brilliant shade of red. Kaeya held his chin and eyed him up and down. He looked petite but Kaeya could tell there were muscles lurking under those clothes.

"I don't want to be your knight."

"Oh? So what are you going to do about it?"

He stepped out of the line and grabbed Kaeya's hands, holding them above his head and forcing him back onto his throne.

"You pampered little shit. You don't know the first thing about fighting. Shut that mouth of yours."  He grabbed Kaeya's face with one of his hands.

"Make me."

"Prince Kaeya?"

"Hm?" Kaeya snapped out of his daze, looking at the servant in question.

"Have you made a selection?"

"Oh, yes, this one is fine," Kaeya waved his hand dismissively at the redhead and went back to his seat. He plopped down on it, leaning his back over the armrest and his feet dangling over the other side. Still sitting in it improperly.

"Are you sure, Sir?" the servant glanced nervously at the redhead. "He's been known to have a temper and his element is the opposite of yours. What if he hurts you-"

"Are you telling me you didn't do your job of choosing suitable knights when you first brought them in? Did you purposely put someone dangerous in the lineup and hope I would choose him?" Kaeya glanced at the servant.

"No!" The servant panicked.

"Then leave it at that, hm?" Kaeya stared at his nails.

...

Every step that Kaeya took, Diluc was sure to follow. He knew that having a personal knight meant he would stick by him but the closeness was a bit too close in some cases. Like now, for example, Kaeya wasn't able to bathe alone. Diluc just stood by the door staring absently into space. He didn't so much as glance in Kaeya's direction even though he was putting on quite a show!

Damn him. Kaeya thought to himself. He sunk into the bath and stared at the ceiling. No matter what trickery he tried, Diluc really had no interest in him like that. What was the point of having an attractive knight who would swear loyalty to you and only you but not even so much as kiss your hand? How far could he tease before it just became sexual harassment? Kaeya sighed and ran his hand through his hair. Such a tricky line to walk.

"I'm going to have to ask you to leave." Kaeya glanced down and then at the door. Diluc raised an eyebrow but didn't budge.

"Seriously?" Kaeya shuddered in the water. "No one is going to try and kill me in the bath."

"They'll strike you when you least expect it."

"But..." he sighed and stood up, sitting on the side of the tub. "I can't take care of this while you're here." He pointed down at his erection.
