We woke up the next morning refreshed and ready to tackle the day. We decided to skip breakfast and Delia met us up in our room. We all sat on the bed to talk a little more about our situation.
It was going really good until I could literally feel the air change. "What is it Delia?" I asked shakily, I could tell she was holding something back. Mina just looked at me confused so I held her hand as I tilted my head at Cordelia.
"And don't say 'nothing'" I said as she opened her mouth. She closed it again and looked to be thinking of a way to say it. "Well... since Michael is gone now we can do what we came here to do. Which is to turn back time, to before the apocalypse. Life would essentially be back to normal" she said nervously.
I let out a heavy breath, "I thought it was bad news" I chuckled. "No, no, nothing like that. I was just scared to say something because I know how it sounds. I also just didn't want either of you to worry. It'll be like you went to sleep and woke up for work. You'll have no recollection of the apocalypse time line" she said.
I began to think and wonder about what that really meant. "So it's kinda like poof! It never even existed?" I ask skeptically. "Yeah. Pretty much" she replied. I nodded slowly, taking it in.
"So that means we won't even remember being together or talking to you" Mina joined in.That's what I was worried about, I couldn't put my finger on it exactly. But I knew I was missing something. "Well no. That's what it would be like if I didn't give you back your memories. So you'll go back into regular time and it'll be like how I said. But then after a few seconds your memories will come back" she says confidently.
"But it's not like that for everyone" I countered, just trying to get clarification. "Correct. In this case you will also be granted your memories. But typically everyone's memories are wiped, except those performing the time spell" she replied.
"Ok" I said, Mina nodded showing that she understood as well. Now that, that was out of the way we continued our original conversation. We came to an agreement that once the time has changed back we'd all go on a date. Mina had a lot of suggestions since she'd never traveled.
Cordelia agreed to take us somewhere extra special but wouldn't tell either of us where. We had a lot of laughs and told a lot of stories, Mina even had some I'd never heard. It was overall a really enjoyable conversation and we had a lot of fun.
Delia left and said she would perform the spell soon, later tonight. Once she was gone Mina and I laid down taking in our last night of the outpost. She turned to me and smiled, "I really like her" she said quietly. I grinned, "I knew you would, you just had to give her a chance" I replied.
She nodded and brought me in close, we cuddled until we both feel asleep.
