Later that day, Saesha enters the room holding her breath. She heaves out a sigh of relief when she doesn't see Akshay in the room. Quickly spotting her phone, she dials Satya's number and calls him. After a ring or two, he picks up.
"I almost thought you forgot about my existence" He mumbles, from the other side of the phone.
"Hey" hearing her quiet voice, he sensed something was wrong.
"Are you okay?"
"Can you book me a ticket back to Chennai?"
"Is everything okay?"
"I'll explain when I get back there. Can you please... Do this?"
"Of course. Give me a sec. Hmm... There is a train available tomorrow, early in the morning.." Satya speaks from the other side, typing onto his laptop.
"Arent the trains unavailable 'cause of covid?"
"What?" he snorts, almost laughing at her question.
"Which year are you living in? 2020? No.. The cases have decreased and the trains have been working for a year now"
"Right... How about tonight? Is it available-"
"No... It's 4:30 in the morning... Should I-"
"Yes please" she breathes into the phone, concerning Satya.
"Sai..."
"I promise I'll tell you everything when I reach there. Please.. Just don't ask me anything now"
"Okay. Do you maybe want to talk to your...cat?" he asks, earning a chuckle from her.
"Please"
"You're buying me a new phone if he does anything to it" Satya quietly walks over to Puli and places his phone next to him, before running away from the small creature.
Puli looks down at the familiar voice, only to be met with a blank screen.
"Meow"
"Hi da, epdi irukka?"
"Meow"
"Unna na romba miss panren, thangam. Unna cuddle pannalum pola irukku" the creature snarls, before stepping on the phone and licking it.
"Hey chi chi, ennoda phone uh-"
"Meow" Puli glares at Satya, earning a laugh from saesha.
"Sai, call end pannu-" puli slowly walks over to where Satya is standing and spits on his bare foot.
"Saiii!!!! Did he just...spit???I'm so done" Satya cries from the other side, earning a full-bellied laugh from her. After the call, her mind races to the day when Akshay said there weren't any trains available and she wondered why he would lie about it and realizes he just needed a few more days to get Swetha to confess her feelings to him.
