The next few days Nick had started packing his things,his whole family had started packing all their stuff before their flight back to Canada.
Meredith is still not talking to Nick,nor Nick is talking to her. They're both stubborn and either of them want to make the first move.
Meredith is laying in her bed while reading her mom's surgical notes, instead of going out with her friends and enjoying summer, she's in her room, studying.
"Meredith?" she heard her mom knocking
"Mom, I'm busy!" Meredith answered annoyed
"Someone wants to talk to you!" Ellis said, hoping she'd open the door
"Tell Nick, I'm busy and I am not in the mood to talk to anyone!" Meredith said again
"Erica is looking for you, not Nick. She's waiting on the terrace" Ellis said
"Be there in a minute" Meredith said
Confused walking out of her room.
Why is Nick's younger sister looking for him? Did he ask her to come and talk to Meredith? maybe.
"Hey, what's up" Meredith greeted as she saw Erica sitting on the chair
"Hi..." Erica greeted back
"Did your brother tell you to come here?"Meredith chuckled as she sat across Erica
"No, I came here myself" Erica said, chuckling as well "I just wanted to say goodbye before I go, it's gonna be a long time before we see each other again" she added "I'll miss you"
"I'll miss you too" Meredith smiled
"I know that you and Nick had a misunderstanding or argument about our situation" Erica stated softly making Meredith look down at her lap while fidgeting her fingers
"We did" Meredith admitted
"I hope you guys fixed it before we left... I can't stand you two fighting" Erica said, trying to lighten up the mood
"This is probably our biggest fight" Meredith added finding herself smiling as well "And probably the fight we can't fix" she added, looking back down on her lap
"Why?" Erica asked
"You know your brother, he doesn't want to make the first move and nor do I" Meredith answered "As long as none of us makes the first move...we won't fix it" she added
"You two are pretty stubborn" Erica said, making Meredith chuckled sadly
"Does your mom know about the fight?" Meredith then asked
"No, daf doesn't know either and I don't think Nick would want them to know about it" Erica answered "They knew how close the two of you are,and I don't think they can even picture you two fighting " she added making Meredith smile
"Erica!" they heard Mrs Marsh calling her
"Uh your mom's looking for you " Meredith said, looking from across the street where Nick's house were
"She'll probably tell me to get ready for our flight to leave in 3 hours" Erica said
"Goodbye, Meredith" she stated smiling sadly at her
"Goodbye,Erica" she replied smiling at her as well, they both shared a warm and tight hug, probably the tightest huy they had ever had
Meredith went back to her room, laying back down on her bed burying herself under the sheets before drifting off to sleep.
And hour and half had past when Meredith woke up from ber nap, she stand up from her bed grabbing her phone and made her way downstairs to the living room.
She made her way to the kitchen and got herself some snacks before going back to the living room where she made herself comfortable, pulling the blanket on her lap,a trow pillow on top of it and a bowl of chips on it, to make herself more comfortable and to enjoy this moment she put on a movie from Netflix wanting to enjoy her alone time since her mom told her that she'll spent the night at the hospital.
She paused the movie as she heard a knock on the door.
"Aunt Nida,hi" she greeted as she saw Nick's mom standing on their terrace
"Meredith,dear" she smiled as Meredith stepped out "You're leaving..." she said as she saw that Nick's dad just entered the car
"I just want to say goodbye to my oldest girl before I left" Nida smiled, she has always treated Meredith like her own daughter since she was Nick's best friend after all and she's kinda Erica's role model and older sister
"I'll miss you" Meredith smiled as Nida pulled her into a hug
"I'll miss you too... we'll be back. I promised" Nida said as she was caressing Meredith's back.
"That's what you said the last time you left" Meredith said as Nida pulled away to look at her
"This time it's real... I promise" Nida assured
"Goodbye, Meredith" Nida smiled
"Goodbye,Aunt Nida, say goodbye to Uncle Philip for me" she said smiling
"I will" Nida answered as she peck Meredith's cheek before walking away.
Watching the woman walk back towards the car,she spotted Nick sitting at the backseat on their car next to Erica. The car window was open, Nick was leaning again the car sit but his face was visible, headphones on.
As Nida sat inside the car, Nick's eyes wander outside the window,and to Meredith's house, meeting her eyes,and saw how the look on her face dropped when she saw him. Looking around the surrounding, wanting to remember every inch and every detail of it because he knows he might never came back here, he doesn't know for sure.
