Kanden paused running his fingers over the golden handle of his sword stopping, expecting to see worry or fear in her eyes. But instead he only saw.... Nothing. Absolutely Nothing. "Go ahead." she said quietly, her voice as smooth as water on a still day. She tilted her head up. Her beautiful red brown eyes staring straight into his. Her long black hair lying over her tan shoulder glistened in the weak sunlight. Suddenly her hand swept toward her boot, lunging for the inside of the black leather. In an instant he leaped back as she drew a small silver dagger. Quickly Kalenra lashed behind her with a small knife clenched in her hand. "I wouldn't move if I were you." she hissed through clenched teeth.
Ailiyah sighed and slowly dropped the dagger to the ground. It was then as her hands dropped the shimmering knife that he saw them. The many bruises and scars on her arms. This girl had been through alot. And that was why she wasn't afraid. Why she wasn't afraid to get hurt. She was ready for it. She was welcoming it. Almost like an old friend. Kanden pushed past the thoughts and leaned forward, grabbing her chin and running the dagger underneath her jaw.
"Now don't you dare try to trick me again or so help me you won't have an eye."
She smiled enthusiastically. "So you mean I'd need an eyepatch because I've always wanted one of those. They look kind of tough and rugged. You think I'd be taken more seriously?
He gritted his teeth again. "Actually I'm rethinking that, maybe you won't have a tongue instead."
She grinned. "But then how will I tell you everything I know?"
With that he hit his head with his palm. Hard.
