Chapter 11: Lost

Derek sat on a rock by the rushing stream, with his head resting on his hands.

The sun was shinning brightly , and the birds chirped happily in the swaying trees. But as Derek listened carefully something felt off. Then all was quiet in an instant.

Nothing made a sound as Derek slowly stood up and looked around trying to find what had frozen the forest so suddenly.

The sun was hiding behind a mass of clouds, then the wind started whispering in Derek's ear. It led him to a large cave in the face of a towering mountain.

Inside the cave it was cold and dark but as he walked deeper into the cave he saw a faint, yellow light that grew brighter, and brighter until he entered a room filled with laughter.

As he looked around he realized that this space could hold a football stadium. Thousands of bright, glowing orbs hung high in the air emitted a brillant light all over the vast area. Lined against the wall was hundreds of tables full of a wide variety of edible food and drinks that ranged in every size, color, and shape imaginable.

The room was full of a large diversity of beings who waltzed around the room in a merry fashion, greeting anybody they encountered with a wide grin.

In the mist of it all sat John with a synthetic grin sown to his face. He was surrounded by a mass of people and Derek was surprised he was able to catch a glimpse of him through the growing crowd. John laughed at everything said and didn't notice Derek staring right at him.

Derek's expression twisted into fury as he raced towards John at full speed. Within a couple of seconds he reached him and threw his whole body into John and knocked him to the ground with a loud thud.

John stared up at Derek in utter and complete suprise as Derek sat upon him and glared down at him. Getting up and Derek stomped out of the room dragging John by his ankle behind him, while the crowd of people just stared at him in shock.
