Lorrena kept low to the ground as she neared the voices she had heard earlier. The long grass hid her as she layed down quietly and tilted her ears toward the voices.
A large group of different varieties of people walked past her and disappeared into a cave in the face of a large mountain. As more disappeared into the cave Lorrena spotted all manner of people. Some had pointy ears, with long silky hair while others had sharp teeth and claws with malice faces.
But no matter what they were, they all chattered excitedly to each other. Lorrenna heards bits and pieces of being chosen to be brought here or that only a handful of them were selected to attend this party of congratulations, over all the excitement.
But Lorenna knew better. They were probably only invited here to be calculated on their strengths and weaknesses to determine if they could stay, and face the tasks ahead or be sent back to where they came from.
Lorenna watched closely as the groups of people started to grow smaller until finally no one was left outside of the cave.
Lorrena hesitated, but decided not to go inside. If she was right, it would be far safer for her to stay outside and wait.
Suddenly movement came from her left. An odd looking man walked into the clearing and into the cave without a second glance. Lorrena kept on watching the entrance for a long time until a young man walked into the clearing and into the cave soon after.
After about five minutes of waiting the same young man stormed out of the clearing dragging the odd man she had seen before behind him. Lorrenna hesitated then got to her feet and quietly followed behind them.
She would soon find out what they were up to.
