Chapter 17:

It's Friday now and moms finally making me go back to school. I stayed a few more days home so i could make sure she could reach everything and so we could just have fun. Daddy finally wrote her off that she could do stuff by herself so momma said that i had to go to school today.

Dean and i have talked a lot but he hasn't been over since the day Heaven got home. I don't know why but it affected me greatly when momma thought i had them over without a parent. She has just always trusted me but since i have started seeing Dean everyone has been questioning me weather its my faith or my actions.

I didn't think it would be this hard to do what you want to do and what God wants you to do but the devil uses the people closest to you. He doesn't want you to do what God calls you rto do so he will do anything to mess it up. I just didn't think he could use my mother but that was answered a few days ago. The devil can do anything as long as God allows it and he does to see if you'll give in or not.

This girl isn't giving in though so the devil can get to steppin.

I love Dean and God has given me him for a reason so im not going to mess that up.

Dean loves is job he had never had one before but he loves working on cars and he says the boss makes him want to know what having a father is like. He said if he didn't already get a taste of it from my father he would have never thought about it.

I had to tell daddy that and he was very proud that he got through to him.

When i get into the school building Mary and Jess rush to me asking how Heaven has been. They came to visit her at the hospital and a few times at the house but they still want to know. I would want to know also but they are always calling and they just called this morning and made me wake her up so they could talk to her.

"Guys, guys, guys." i laugh. "You just talked to her.

"Did we really?" Jess asks and Mary's cheeks heat up in embarrassment.

"How have you been?" Mary asks and i smile at her kindly.

"I'v been great my time away from school has been awesome. More time with God and the best friend."

"But less time with us." Jess says with a frown.

Bringing them both into a hug i say sadly "That was the only downside."

"It better have been." Jess says in a matter o fact tone making Mary and I laugh. "Have you seen Camden?" she asks all of a sudden and I raise a brow looking at her in question. Why would I have seen her hes not my boyfriend. He's like a brother but I don't talk to him like that.

He's the more quiet one so he doesn't talk that much like the rest of them do. "No I havn't seen any of the guys in a few days. Whats up?"

"He didn't txt me back all day yesterday and hes not texting me back today." She says worriedly. It's not really in the stalker kind of way its genuinely worried. "What if something happened to him?"

I pull her into an affectionate hug and say softly. "I'm sure he's fine Jess do you want me to txt Dean?"

"Could you?" she asks after we pull apart. I nod with a sad smile when I see a tear streak down her face.

"I'm sure he's fine Jess but i'll be praying alright."

"Thank you Evangeline your the best." she says trying to be her bright and cheery self.

The bell rings so I walk off to my class texting Dean at the same time. [Hey, is Camden okay? Jess is freaking out.]

Last night Dean couldn't stay on the phone with me long after he got off of work because he was telling the boys by. I wonder if this has anything to do with Camden not texting her back. My reply doesn't come until lunch time but I expected that because Dean went in early today so I could come over and watch movies with him.

[Why she freaking? Far as I know he fine.]

[She thinks he's hurt because he hasn't been texting her.]

[OHHH] Is his simple urgent reply.

When I enter the cafeteria I go to our table and look at Jess. "Dean said last he herd Camden was fine. I think they left town for a few days. Maybe his phone doesn't have service."

"Left town?" Jess and May ask at the same time. I look to May because she is probably worried also. Her and Maverick started talking a lot more than before and I kinda think their secretly dating.

"Yah Dean was seeing them off last night."

"Where did they go?" May asks and I shrug because I don't know but I kind of have a hunch on where they disappeared to.

Jess narrows her eyes at me and says "You know don't you."

"I seriously don't but i'll ask Dean tonight and txt you."

Jess's eyes stay narrowed until she leans back and assesses me. "You better text us."

"Heaven baby." I say happily walking into the movie room.

She smiles largely looking at me from over her shoulder. In her fake British accent she says "Flower darling."

Plopping down in the seat next to her I say "How are you feeling?"

"Awesome. Fran hooked me up with some smores and milk." She holds up her empty plate and I frown at it. "I know they were just that good." she says rubbing it in.

"That's really mean dude." I pout sitting back in my seat.

Shrugging she says with fake snootiness  "Should have stayed home."

Scoffing I say "Yah like momma would have allowed that. Did you bug Fran a lot."

"Phfft more like Fran was the one bugging me all day." We laugh together because I can see that. When your sick Fran checks on you every five minutes no lie.

"Do you wanna come to Deans with me in a bit? We're gonna watch movies."

"Blaze isn't there." she says shaking her head.

"Where is he?" I ask and she looks at me clueless.

I was hoping you would know. He's texting me but he wont tell me where hes at." Because he feels guilty I think but I don't say anything because I don't know if that's really where their at.

"I don't are you sure you don't want to come?"

She smirks at me and says "I have a play date with your much cooler sibling."

"Mhmm much cooler." I laugh sitting back to watch the movie she's been watching.

At seven my phone churps letting me know im getting a call. "Hurry up and answer." Heaven says not taking her eyes off of the screen.

"Gee." I say sliding over the talk button. "Hello?" I ask not looking at the I.D.

"Hey." Dean says over the other line.

"Oh I didn't know it was you. Heaven's acting like every time I talk im killing her slowly."

"Flower really?" she says looking over at me.

Sticking my tongue out at her I leave the room laughing. Dean chuckles and says "What is she doing?"

I wave at Fran when I walk by the kitchen and she comes out to give me a kiss on the forehead. "Watching Duck Dynasty. I mean its my favorite show but Gee."

Dean heaves an amused chuckle and I smile at the sound. "Do you want me to pick you up? Or do you just want to come after I get a shower?" he asks starting his car.

"Come pick me up." I say going to my room to put some leggings on under my dress. We're going to be watching a movie and I want to be comfortable.

"I was hoping you would say that. I'll be there in ten." he say and we say our good byes before we hang up.
