The One With An Attractive Cop

Everest's POV

Tobias Eaton-no, Ravenrose- stood there like a Rumpfed scullion. He acted all tough and badass, like all the assassins did apparently, but I could see the worry seeping through him. "Luna never said she had a brother..." I said, but then again, we never really had much time for small talk, like who all the other assassins were in her family.

"There's a pretty good reason for that. But I need you to help me find my sister," he said in a raspy voice that reminded me of Sawyer Hartman.

"So you know? About the kidnapping?" His jaw dropped, so I guess he didn't know. "Oh well, she might have....ya know, gotten kidnapped....Lacy too," I said as apologizingly as possible.

"What. The. Fuck. I come here looking for my sister and find out she's kidnapped? Why did you let her get kidnapped?"

"We didn't let her get anything" (except Caspar ;) ;) ;) )

But Capsar added helpfully, "Wait till you hear what else she did to her." And Toby stared expectantly.

"Look. I was going insane, and I thought I was being attacked and I couldn't see, and I bit her accidentally," I tried to explain.

He just stared at me like, why the fuck did this girl bite my sister and why the fuck is she telling me about it? Then realization dawned on him. "You're a....so now she's a....vampire," he spat at me in absolute rage. I nodded sullenly.

"I'm sorry. I so sor-" but Marina cut me off.

"Look, we need to go. What's done is done, and it was an accident, and the only way we can find Luna is if we go right now, because I hear cops, and Calum and Caspar aren't 'undercover yet.'"

And she was right; I could see the flashing lights and hear the wailing sirens of what I knew all too well to be a police car.

"Well, let's just leave. Forget screwing with my hair. Let's just go," Calum insisted. I have to admit, for the first time, I agreed with him.

I started to nod in agreement as I heard the clicking of guns being loaded, and I turned to face an actually really attractive cop in my face.
