Everest's POV

Tessa didn't answer any of the three times I called. So, after tying up all the minions and locking them in a closet, Calum and I raced to my house.

It felt nice to be home. As soon as I got there, I hugged my mom and told her I would explain later. After that, I called Tessa, but she didn't pick up, again.

Finally, I got a nice warm shower. I must've taken about an hour to shower. As I walked out of the bathroom, I smiled at Calum, "I think I used all the hot water. Hope you don't mind." He just sneered. That's when I had to tell my mother.

It was very awkward to start the conversation, but it ended up all just flowing through my mouth. Word vomit. I could've made up something, but I knew that I would have to leave again soon, and I was done with lying. I also wanted her to feel guilty for never teaching me werewolf stuff.

When Calum got out of the shower, I said, "I'm gonna go look for Tessa. You stay here and do not follow me."

"Did you call her again?"

"Yes. And again, and again, and again. I'm really worried about her."

"Okay," was all he said.

"Well, I'm leaving," I yelled to my mom. And I left.

______________

Walking the dark streets of Seattle, I wondered how I had ever even gotten to this place in my life. Just a week ago, I could've been doing the same thing I was doing right then, except I wouldn't be worrying about evil assassins and minions and getting kidnapped.

When I heard someone behind me, I had already started to Change. Except, that someone was Calum, and he called out, "It's just me! It's just me."

"What the hell are you doing here? Five words or less."

"Out for a walk.....bitch," Calum said, putting his finger up as he said each word. I just rolled my eyes, and my phone rang.

"Hello? Where the hell have you been?" I said.

"Hi. It's Tessa. Well, I guess you already knew that. Um, look I'll meet you at Luna's house. I have a guest," and she hung up.

"We're going to Luna's house. And we're getting an explanation from that motherfucking werewolf. Let's go, Calum."

After waiting in the house for 5 minutes, Tessa showed up. "And what happened here?" she asked.

"You missed out on a lot. So, yeah, while you were off 'on a tampon run,' Caspar was getting kidnapped by Lacy, who's evil by the way. So don't- why is he here?" I stared, very shocked, at a man with large sunglasses covering his eyes and a bandage wrapped around his forehead. But the rest of his face was unforgettable. It was Mr. Cillgod.

"Caspar said that he could open a portal, right? The one we need to open to save Luna, Marina, Toby, and now apparently Capsar," Tessa explained his presence. Except the problem with that was he would never help. Not now that he knew I was involved.

I notice the blood had drained from his face as soon as he heard my voice. "You didn't tell me that she was going to be here," he grumbled.

"It wouldn't have made a difference. If you had known, what would you have done? Screamed harder while I kicked your ass?" I glanced at the scratches on his body, which I guess must've came from Tessa. They did look like werewolf wounds. Calum and I laughed.

If he had eyes, he would have rolled them I'm sure. That thought made me laugh even harder. Damn, I was turning into a downright bitch, and I liked it.

"We need you to open a portal," Tessa said.

"Yeah, I could do that, but I'm paralyzed with not caring very much," he grumbled. This time, I rolled my eyes.

"At least I have eyes to roll," I accidentally said out loud. Tessa just stared at me.

Finally, I started the conversation. "Look. He clearly won't help us, so we'll have to do it on our own."

"I second that," Calum said.

"Yeah, she's right, I won't help."

"Is everyone here very stoned?" Tessa shouted.

"Well I don't know. Did anyone get out Luna's cookie dough?" I asked

"Caspar, Luna, Marina, and Toby are all probably being tortured right now. I've never met some of them, and I barely know the others, yet you bastards, who call them your friends, won't even make an effort to save them. Yeah, he won't help us. But you've made it pretty clear that you're not afraid to hurt this guy, so we could easily torture him into doing this, Everest."

And after that beautifully inspiring speech, we all got to work tying up our hostage.
