Marina's POV

Jail wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Hey, there's free food and a nice bed and a beautiful view of a parking lot from my barred window. Who am I kidding? Jail is one of the worst things to ever happen to me.

Not to mention the fact that I was sharing a 10×9 square foot cell with Toby the Sex God. He just sat on the horrible wooden bed and brooded like Edward Cullen once he found out he was the father of the half-vampire, half-human child.

"Why has Luna never mentioned you?" I asked softly, attempting to break the long silence.

"It's a long story."

"Well, I've got a long time." I guestured to the bars on the cell window.

"Uhm...Well...Luna sort of thinks that I died. You see, I was in grave danger. There was an unspeakable force out there called LEMLAS, or Largely Evasive Mastermind Living Amongst Society. That's what we called it, anyways. Once they had their eyes on a certain person then that person would be dead within 5 days. And they had directed their attention towards yours truly. I needed to disappear, so I 'died'" He said, using his hands to demonstrate LEMLAS and their evil plans.

"LEMLAS? I think that's the poison Everest was poisoned with. That's...odd." I said. Toby widened his eyes.

"And who poisoned Everest?"

"Lacy, Caspar's sister. But she said it was an accident." I said, adding on the last part quickly.

"I'm sure it was. What's your story anyways?" Toby asked with his brooding golden eyes.

"Eh...nothing much, really. Dead mother. Rich father. Psychic. The whole shebang." I said shrugging. Then my vision went black. It was a familiar feeling, now. I was having a vision.

I was now in a room that was white. All white. The floors, celing, walls were the same off-white. I glanced around and saw nothing, but that changed when I heard a glorious voice begin to sing.

The song was The Moon Song by: Karen O, and I knew it well. I turned frantically, trying to find the source of the sound, but got nothing.

The voice had become closer. So close that it sounded like the owner of the voice was directly behind me. I turned around to find a woman standing and singing with all her might.

This woman had thin brown hair and sharp cheekbones. Her eyes were the oddest shade of purple, like the color of the sky in mid-sunset. She eventually stopped singing and looked at me straight in the eyes.

"Marina Kohl Saffron. Open your eyes." Her voice was almost as beautiful as her singing. She looked me straight in the eye until I could feel myself walking up.

I jerked awake and felt hands shaking me. I looked up to find the worried face of Toby.

"Marina? Marina!" He yelled at me. I shushed him and he let go instantly. I was thinking about my vision intensely. Did she mean open my eyes to wake up? Or open my eyes to something obvious happening right under my nose?

"Hey, Toby. Is that a look of concern on your face?" I asked suspiciously, but he just turned his back.

"You scared me, that's all." He said. Excuses, excuses.

"Is she alright?" I heard a voice say from the other side if our bars. I looked up to find one of the most stunning girls I've ever seen. The girl had coffee-colored skin that looked as smooth as milk chocolate. Her eyes were warm pools of dark brown. Her hair was somehow both a mess and model-like. As if she was trying to make it look messed up, and it suited her. Her black slip dress hung on her hour-glass figure. I stared in awe at her body, with a twinge of jelousy.

"I'm fine. I'm just-" She cut me off. "Psychic, I know. I've been listening."

"You have?" Toby squeaked.

"What else is there to do around her? I'm Tessa, and my father was the one who arrested you." She said, flashing her pearly whites. Toby put an arm protectively around me and pulled me behind him.

"Look, I don't want you near us. We don't need a lawsuit." Toby said, brooding again.

"Calm down. I just get bored easily." Tessa said. She sounded a little stuck up and bratty, but I was beginning to like her.

"That's great. Go away now." Goddamnit Toby.

"Bored now. How about I break you guys out?" She sounded extremely excited to break the law.

"That would be nice." I said, wondering if this was some test. Tessa pulled out a ring of keys that held about 1000 silver keys. She put one into the lock of the door and it swung open. I uncertainly trudged out of my jail cell, and Toby followed closely behind.

"You guys need to be quiet. I'll go get your friends." Tessa said and sauntered off. I looked at Toby and shrugged.
