Aizawa's body crashed to the ground. That Nomu, as the villains had called it, had way too much strength for it to be human. He felt several bones in his leg break. The Nomu was on top of him punching relentlessly. It was the only villain left other than Shigaraki and the warp gate guy. Aizawa could barely move a muscle and still his head turned to where Shigaraki stood.
Him and Kanashii were fighting not far away. There was no way he could be of much help in this condition, but maybe if he got a shot, he could erase his quirk, so Kanashii would have it easier. Come to think of it, he wondered, how she had known that his quirk was both dangerous and touch-related. A thought shot through his head. There was a chance that she had known about the attack, preemptively. Had that been the thing she had wanted to tell him before this all unfolded?
He had no time to think on it further, as the Nomu slammed his head back into the ground. Over and over. He had no chance at even attempting to erase Shigaraki's quirk. He could hear muffled voices not far away.
"...to bring you back alive... will understand... accident that just couldn't be avoided."
It was muffled pieces of a conversation and it sounded much like Shigaraki's voice. Was he talking to Kanashii? Did they know each other? Or worse, was she a part of them? It didn't sound like a pleasant conversation, though. Aizawa was left with no time to look, as his head again met with the hard concrete. His eyes were now barely open as he slipped in and out of consciousness.
"I'm no hero."
Kanashii's glove hit the floor. Shigaraki's eyes followed it. A disgusting smirk clad his face.
"You wouldn't." He said. "Not in front of the people who would imprison you the second they found out about you."
She tilted her head moving forward to him. Instinctively he stretched out a hand, ready to disintegrate her the second she moved to closely. Her hand was raised also. Shigaraki knew that she had the advantage in this scenario. Her quirk worked instantly upon touch while his required his full palm to come into contact with her. His only chance was that she was mentally weaker than him. As she had always been.
"Are you willing to wager your life on that?" She looked him dead in the eye.
The purple became more and more apparent, the closer she moved in on him. The Creator had been sure that she would have gone soft. Of course, she wouldn't have been able to understand the importance of the master's work. The Creator had given her everything and still, she lacked the understanding. She was a failure just like the others and should be taken care of just like the others. He couldn't understand what was in it for the Creator and the Master to keep her alive.
"You haven't thought a day in your life without being ordered to." He taunted. "I don't believe you are capable of consciously making the choice to die here."
Kanashii stood right before him now. Her uncovered hand was barely an inch away from his skin.
"Let's test your theory then."
He started to worry. He wasn't accustomed to this kind of determination from her. It went against everything within her. The disgusting taste of last night crept back up her mouth. She hated standing here before him, with the intent to kill, but it was necessary to protect them all. First him and then the huge creature. Her hands were a curse and she had no right to use it as much as she had, but just this once she hoped it to be justified.
