I let Sam and Dean go on Alice-watching-duty while I headed back to where we were bunked during our time on the ranch. I'd been faking sleep until Dean had fallen asleep and then staying up late every night because I had started to have more and more frequent nightmares, and after staying up all night in the Impala on the way over, I was exhausted enough that I was out the second my head hit the pillow.
A young red-headed girl and a younger dirty bond boy stood holding hands. They looked way older than Maddie and Zep should have been, appearing to be around 10 and 7 respectively.
"Why did you leave us, Mommy?" Zep asked me.
"We waited for you," Maddie chimed in, using the same lilted, creepy tone as her brother.
"We had to watch while the bad angel killed Sara. And then she locked us away. She locked us away and hurt us."
"We cried for you. We didn't want to use our powers for the bad angel. But she made us."
"No, stop," I shook my head, covering my ears, but their voices still came through even louder than before.
"Why didn't you come save us, Mommy?" Zep asked again.
"Is it because you stopped loving us?" Maddie chimed in.
"No. No. No. No. No!"
"Ellie Bear!"
My eyes snapped open, looking around frantically before focusing on the bright green pair staring down at me with worry. My whole body was shaking as Dean helped me sit up and then pulled me onto his lap, wrapping his arms around me protectively.
"Shh, it's alright," he murmured quietly in my ear. "It was just a bad dream. I've got you."
He continued to rock me gently, murmuring calm assurances in my ear while I clutched tightly to his shirt beneath his jacket until I stopped shaking so violently. Slowly, I became more and more aware of our surroundings, realizing Sam was on the other side of the small quarters, messing around with one of our duffel bags while he gave Dean and I space.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" Dean asked me gently once I had calmed down more.
I shook my head, turning to bury my face in the side of his neck, breathing in his familiar musk.
"What happened with Alice?" I asked timidly after a moment.
"No luck. She seems fine. It must not have been her," Sam spoke up.
"So, now what?"

"God almighty," the Sheriff muttered, kneeling by Carl's sheet-covered body.
Sam, Dean, and I all stood nearby with Ellie.
"I'm sorry, Ellie," Dean addressed the Hispanic woman. "Carl seemed like a good guy."
"The best," she agreed, eyes rimmed with red from crying.
"You say his head was practically ripped off?" Sam asked the Sheriff.
"And you are?"
"Just curious."
"He's new," Ellie supplied. "He works here."
"Carl died bad- let's leave it at that," the Sheriff stood up. "They've been reintroducing wolves 'round these parts, but I never thought..."
"This wasn't a wolf," Ellie cut him off. "I got to make some phone calls. The whole family's flying in for this."
"All the Cassitys under one roof," the Sheriff shook his head. "Good luck."
He and Ellie walked off, leaving us alone as a team cleared out the body.
