A/N- Settle yourself into a comfy spot and grab a snack, because this chapter is a long one!
Sorry for the delay in my posting for not only this story but my one-shots. I have been so busy recently that finding time to write has been very hard, but I am trying my hardest to get my writing done, so please be patient <3

"All I know is that every person that tries to be a hero ends up the same way. Bloody and alone."

It was 10 PM when Holly finally grabbed the file to Mr. James' room, escaping the depths of the ER that was filled with blood and broken limbs to go see her favorite patient (and her only friend) on the floor. The evidence of her night's work was long since washed off her scrubs.
Holly finally gained clearance from Matt to be able to leave his apartment, which was something that was rather exciting to her considering for the past four days she had been watching daytime TV, snacking on chips and salsa, and organizing Matt's kitchen out of pure boredom.
Although Matt had made an effort to keep Holly company; by playing UNO, watching Movies, and talking about the firm's most recent case involving Fisk to occupy her time, she still had become bored with the routine lifestyle she had fallen into, making her return to work much more exciting then others would have thought; despite how busy the hospital had been.
"Is that-?" Mr. James shot up from his spot in the bed as he squinted his eyes. He was close to ripping out his IV with how quickly he moved. "Jesus, it has been four days, I thought you were dead, Holly Nelson. Where have you been?"
"I just had a slight cold, don't worry." Holly smiled before walking over to the cart, grabbing Arthurs's file and reading over it. "You know how I am with the cold weather, my body can't handle it."
Arthur shook his head, pointing at Holly. "You left me with a hard nurse while you were gone." He peaked his head around Holly, looking out towards the nurse's station. His voice lowered as he spoke. "She gave me more restrictions on my diet. I can't have my afternoon snack anymore, now I have to eat carrots and hummus like an animal."
Holly chuckled as her head peaked back down at the paper. "Which nurse was it?"
The room became silent while she did her work. Holly looked at him when he didn't respond, seeing the static expression written across his face. She knew what this meant, and she hated that she saw it happen. She could see him trying to think, and it hurt her to see him get irritated with himself when he couldn't remember who his nurse was.
"It was probably Claire," Holly spoke, interrupting his thoughts. "Yeah, it was Claire because she told me that she was taking care of you while I was gone."
Mr. James gained his facial expressions again, his face growing softer. "Yes. Yes, It must have been Claire then."
Sometimes Holly tended to forget why Mr. James was in the hospital. Sure, his ongoing heart problems were relevant, but Holly tends to forget that he was there because he struggled with his dementia. Seeing him forget things, especially about people he knew well, was just another reminder that his dementia wasn't getting any better.
After what felt like an unending silent spell, Mr. James' voice fell upon Holly's ears. "You should have been here a couple of nights ago. A whole group of men came in after that Devil Of Hell's Kitchen guy beat the shit out of them." He shook his head. "It's ridiculous what that guy does. Then he expects us to consider him a hero like he's some Tony Stank."
