A/N- I'm back! And boy is this gonna be a fun chapter.
How did we like the last chapter? I was gonna have a nice sit down chapter were they told Foggy everything but you guys know I can't do that, (Plus, this makes the story more funny in my opinion.) This chapter is a continuation from the last one with a few more added details that I hope you'll like. We're approaching the end so prepare yourselves!
A wonderful reader has created a Spotify playlist for this story! So if you guys would like to listen to it, the link is on the playlist page of this story. Also, if you post anything related to this story, please use #MattxHollyExile so I can find it easier. Thank you! :)

Chapter 19

"This is the girl your dating? The girl you asked me advice on how to tell her you love her?"

Matt adjusted himself in the stall seat, the aged wood from the confessional booth creaking under his body. He felt like the seat had been worn by him more than anyone in Hell's Kitchen. This was the only place he could go to feel completely better for what he had done, and especially after a day like today, he needed it more than anything.
"Forgive me father, for I have sinned." Father Lantom sat on the other side of the booth, shielded by a wall of wood that allowed enough room for Matt's voice to echo through. "It's been..." There was a brief pause after his words as Matt contemplated how long it had been since he repeated those words. "A week since my last confessional."
Father Lantom let out a sympathetic noise. Matt's voice was one of many that Father would hear weekly. Something about Matt was different though. Maybe it was because he had raised him, but his confessions were something Father never looked forward to. He wished that Matt would somehow be able to find peace in a world full of little hope.
"What brings you in here today, Matthew?" He questioned. Matt took his glasses from his face, folding them into his lap as he let his head fall back into the wood behind him.
"Today has been long," Matt took a burried breath. "Very, very, long."

"Happy Birthday, Fog," Holly said, her voice raising an octave higher.
Perhaps it was out of fear or anxiety, or another reason but she had a tendency to approach embarrassing problems with a joking attitude. But this time, it set Foggy off even more. His expression became darker, glaring at them as his lips tightened.
