A/N- Well, here we go again. Chapter 14 baby!

How are you all doing, Hotties? This weeks chapter is fluff and something a bit extra I guarantee you all have been waiting for (Well, at least some of you. You know who you are)

Sorry for how long it took me to get this chapter out. I had a heart attack after my entire chapter got deleted and I had to rewrite it. Luckily, I had a scrap of it in my drafts so I was able to save some of it.

Anywho, enough about how much I hate technology. Enjoy the chapter and don't forget to leave feedback!

(Ps, reading through this again I see one line that was repeated. Just ignore it lol)

Chapter 14

"I know that none of this has been easy. The secrecy, the lying, all of it. But to me, all of this is worth it if I get to call you mine."

February.

It was the time of year in New York when you don't fully know what to expect from the weather. Some days it's so bright even sunglasses can't keep the rays of sunlight off your eyes, and other days it's so gloomy and cold that you begin to wonder if Global Warming is backtracking. For Holly, she typically enjoyed February. It was the final push of winter before the flowers in Central Park started blooming, and the sky had a pastel blue haze floating in it constantly.

Although today was the third day of February, it felt as if it was later. It felt like spring despite what the weatherman said. The early morning sun bled through Matt's apartment window, caressing their skin with small beams of sunlight as they embraced each other in bed. Matt's arms were wrapped around Holly's body as her head rested on his chest. Like two pieces of a puzzle finally connecting.

"Morning," Matt whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to Holly's head.

Matt always knew when Holly was awake, despite her trying to remain completely still to keep Matt asleep. He could hear the shift in her breathing, the upbeat in her heart when she realized they were lying with each other. Even when she would try to fall back asleep, Matt would always say something before her eyes even had the chance to flutter shut.

"Hi," Holly responded as she stretched her arms out, falling back into Matt's chest soon after. "Did I wake you up?"

Matt shook his head. "No, not at all." He said. "I've been awake for a while."

He lied.

But, don't get mad at him, it was for a good reason.

"Oh Good," Holly said, curling up further into his chest like a cat to a window. Embracing herself in the warmth of Matt's arms.

A lopsided grin adorns Matt's lips. "So, we both have off work today."

Holly hummed with a faint smile. Matt had told Holly to call off work a few days back. She figured it was to keep her out of sight and mind from Fisk, but the past couple of days of Matt being extra secretive had caused Holly to wonder if it was something else. Either way, she didn't mind. A day without blood on her hands, and shit on her scrubs, was a day she would cherish greatly.
