"We came here to get a few drinks, not to dance with freaks".
My jaw dropped, as I heard Momo's angry voice speak, "Who the fuck do you think you are to call me a freak?!".
Jennie smirked, "I'm Jennie Kim and I might add that the owner of this bar.. indeed is my boyfriend".
"What are you implying here?".
"That I can get you kicked out however I want". I clenched my fist and faced Jennie, who didn't show any emotion on her face. "And why would you get her kicked out? For what reason?".
She didn't say anything.
"Cat got your tongue?". Momo angrily looked over at her.
"No, but either way. Know your place. Whatever reason I would get you kicked out for, isn't your business, to begin with". Jennie replied.
"You're the one who's all up in my business and why is that?".
"Because you're dealing with what's mine". Jennie hissed and with that walked away.
I stood there dumbstruck. "Whatever, I need me a drink". Momo walked past me as I rubbed the back of my head, confusion lecturing me and embracing me as I looked at where the madwoman left. Why was Jennie angry at the presence of the other lady? We were just dancing.
I clenched my jaw and followed Jennie who was walking to where the bartender was but I grabbed her by the wrist to stop her, "What was that?".
She calmly tried to pull her wrist out of my grip but couldn't. "Lisa, let go of my wrist!".
"Not until you tell me what was that all about". I furrowed my brows and looked at her eyes—as if her eyes were capable enough to answer all of the questions inside my heart.
"Why are you so damn stubborn? I said let go of my wrist!".
"Be a decent human and answer me then". I muttered, "Jennie, you know I don't like repeating myself, so answer me".
"It was..". Jennie bit her lip, as those brown eyes melted into mine, "That was nothing, I just don't like her".
"You don't like her.. or don't like the idea of someone else dancing with me?", I carefully asked.
She sarcastically smiled and stepped closer to look me in the eyes, "If you ever think that I'm jealous, then you're dead wrong. Because, I never liked that girl, she always came around this bar and people complained about her so many times, that's all".
"Then why did you stop me from dancing with her?". I questioned.
There was no answer.
She's jealous.
I sighed heavily and changed the topic.
"Where is your boyfriend?".
"He's in his office, trying to speak to some of his clients". She admitted while avoiding my eyes as the music became slowed down.
"Then dance with me?".
"What?".
"You heard me, dance with me".
Jennie bit her lip, "You must be crazy".
"You didn't give me any other option".
Without thinking twice, I led her to the dance floor. I gripped her hands and placed them around my neck before grabbing her by the waist closer to me.
Couples around us surrounded the area, so it didn't matter. There was an exception to this, they were couples and we weren't.
We once were.
I bitterly smiled to myself once Jennie's eyes managed to meet mine.
"Do you remember this feeling, Nini?". I swayed us to the music and sighed heavily as she just stared at me. Jennie was still in awe at the nickname I gave her years ago. Her eyes softened, her fingers delicately caressed the back of my neck but she chose her approach with silence.
I didn't have time, so I had to speak.
"Remember our first dance? When you told me how much you loved dancing but preferred to dance alone in your room, rather than show me how gracefully good you were?".
"Dancing together, we became like two swans who tried to mimic the shadows of one another". I admitted. "The first time we met, which was something we both didn't think would happen. Because of the lack of distance between us, but even with the busy nights, I still kept you by my side".
"I replay our conversations in my head and smile at the thought of you because even when you became so bitter and cold to me, you were still the only woman who dared to play with my demons". She didn't pull away but instead listened carefully. "And I don't necessarily mean.. the way you seduced younger me". I chuckled and watched her bite back a smile.
This was our dance, forever.
"Everything about you, made me feel.. even. You completed me, Jennie".
