Lisa
"Everything about you, made me feel.. even. You completed me, Jennie".
Jennie's eyes lingered on mine, she seemed deep in thought as I spoke, "I tried to understand why you left, but I didn't come up with many reasons why you would do so. Our relationship may have been rocky, but I never took any of what happened, into you ever leaving".
I gulped hard, my emotions clouding me as I question, "What makes him different, Jennie?".
She opened her mouth to speak, but a voice broke us apart. "Jennie?".
It was Woobin.
-
Jennie nervously let go and pushed me away, but I bit back my tongue to not say anything and closed my eyes for a few seconds before turning to the man who stood there with furrowed eyes brows.
What? Does he suspect a thing?
"What were you guys doing?". He asked.
"Dancing, isn't it obvious?". Jennie rolled her eyes and replied to him. Her sarcastic tone made him shrug his head in disapproval as he crossed his arms like a little child. I snorted, Why are men like this?
"Yeah, but the song that is playing is for couples". He complained.
"Well, Lisa is an old friend, Woobin". She was the one to cross her arms now, "Plus, she offered to dance with me since someone was too busy worrying about work when his girlfriend is out with him".
One thing for sure, she was the best at flipping the tables, and at making the person feel guilty despite how much she can be at fault.
He looked defeated, "Jennie, I-".
"Just save it for later, I want to go home".
I excused myself from them and made my way into the bathroom to clear my mind. Once I washed up, I was by a mirror that was small and cheap, about the size of the cell phones all the up-town kids were carrying. It was the kind you see in a dollar store thickly rimmed in white plastic, the kind that's in a landfill not even a month later. The shiny surface was covered in greasy fingerprints and there was a lipstick smear.
Son of a bitch, couldn't afford to buy mirrors for the bathrooms here.
As soon as I left, I took my time walking, just looking through the place and taking in the interior of this bar. It wasn't the best, but the drinks here sure had the customers coming in.
"We told him that he can trade her to us while it gives him the full benefit of the doubt".
"How is she?".
"Who? His girlfriend?". A man chuckled from behind the curtains.
"Yes".
"His girlfriend is the hottest I've seen in this town, he surely knew how to pick the right one for the job".
"I've heard that she's hard to deal with".
"Whether she's hard or not, I'm sure this fat dick can make her zip her mouth".
Other men started to laugh. I clenched my jaw, I felt like I heard something I shouldn't be hearing. And a part of me made me feel that this was a pure danger that I'm settling myself upon. They didn't sound like normal men, more like drug dealers and humans who dealt with illegal things.
I was so disgusted by the way they spoke of whoever that woman was. I was about to walk away when another one spoke.
"Wasn't he going to marry her?".
"You seriously think a guy his age, or that Woobin would settle down like that? He's tuned in for the trade".
