"KIDDIE POOL"

<•—•> The group pulled up at Hawkins Middle and for a weekend, it was fairly easy to get in. They were all assigned jobs. Samantha went off with Dustin and Lucas to fill the kiddie pool.

"Damn. This thing is heavy." Dustin groaned as he rolled the deflated kiddie pool across the gym floor.

"Oh my god," Samantha whispered before pushing Dustin away. "You're so slow." She told him and she picked up the kiddie pool and brought it into the middle of the gym. It smacked on the floor with a thud.

"You're weaker than a girl." Lucas teased.

"So are you," Samantha said matter-of-factly. Lucas just rolled his eyes before he and Dustin un-tied the kiddie pool and placed it flat on the floor.

"How does this even work?" Dustin asked.

"Try that side." Lucas pointed.

"Son of a bitch!"

"Pull it back. Pull it back."

"I am!"

"One, two, three." The two tried to open it and groaned when it didn't work.

"Shit."

"Oh, I don't know. This is just a thought. Maybe it needs to be filled with water." Samantha said sarcastically.

"Oh."

"Right."

"That makes sense."

"Yeah." Samantha rolled her eyes before Nancy and Mike came into the gym with two hoses.

"I'm gonna give these to El." Samantha left the room and entered the classroom where Joyce and Eleven were sitting.

"Hey, El?" Samantha knocked on the door and smiled.

"Yes?"

"I made these for you. To block the light. It's just tape and goggles, but it should work." Samantha passed the goggles to her and Eleven smiled.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome." Samantha smiled before sitting next to Eleven and looking at Joyce.

"We're ready!" She heard Mike yell and the three got up. Samantha grabbed Eleven's hand and walked with her to the now-filled kiddie pool. Eleven took her socks off before placing the goggles on her face. Samantha and Joyce helped her in the pool. Eleven sat in the middle of the pool, laying her body out before floating over the water.

"I'll be right here, El," Samantha reassured and she saw Eleven smile before she focused on finding Will. The lights flickered as Eleven concentrated.

"Will?" She whispered. Joyce gasped but didn't say anything else.

"You tell him... You tell him I'm coming." Joyce's voice shook.

"Mom is coming. Your mom... she's coming for you." Eleven stuttered.

"Hurry." The group heard Will weakly. Samantha grabbed Eleven's hand and gasped as she saw Will. He was curled in a ball and Eleven tried to reassure him.

"We're coming," Samantha whispered.

"Sam?" The group looked toward their friend, her eyes were closed as she gripped Eleven's hand tightly.

"We're gonna save you," Samantha reassured as she caressed Will's face.

"Okay," Will whispered before his eyes closed in exhaustion. Suddenly, everything started to disappear and a low growling sound was heard.

"Will?" The girls questioned.

"Will!" Samantha looked around, but everything was black. Eleven whimpered and Samantha grabbed her hand.

The two gasped, opening their eyes. Eleven took off the goggles, breathing heavily.

"It's okay," Joyce whispered to the girl. Eleven moved towards Samantha and she hugged her.

"We're okay," Samantha said. Eleven cried in her arms as Samantha reached out to rub Eleven's shoulder. She said reassuring things to try to calm down the girl.

"Come on." Joyce pushed Eleven to stand up and she immediately shivered. She was pulled out before Dustin, Mike, and Lucas moved forward and wrapped a towel on top of her. She pulled it close and Samantha walked her to the bleachers. They sat close to the top and Eleven pushed her head on Mike's shoulder. Samantha sat near Lucas and placed a hand on Eleven's shoulder. Joyce, Hopper, and Johnathan rushed away and Nancy was nowhere to be found.

"What are we going to do?" Lucas asked.

"I have no idea."
