"Have you said anything to Elena about your magic?" I asked Bonnie getting out of her car.

Bonnie still doesn't know about the vampires running around town, and I would like to keep it that way unless it becomes dangerous for her. She should deal with her witchy problems first; she could barely handle magic I can't imagine her finding out about blood sucking demons.

She glanced at me while nodding her head. "Yeah, I did something small. Elena was feeling down, so I did that trick where I make feathers float. She kind of did get mad at me for cutting open her pillow to use the feathers from it. The one I'm having a problem with Caroline."

I paused taking her arm. "What happened with my sister?"

Bonnie gave a very exaggerated sigh; she pulled my arm from me and crossed them over her chest. "She wants me to give back the necklace she got from Damon."

Quirking a brow I asked, "The ugly ass one?"

"The ugly ass one," she repeated confirming my guess. "Turns out it belonged to my ancestor; Her name was Emily." Bon-Bon reaches and touched the amber jewel that was around her neck. Her voice then turned harsh as she glared at the accessory. "Grandma said I should wear it, so I wanted to keep it. But now all I want is to rip it out of my neck, and have it gone."

"So why don't you just give it back to Care?" I asked completely confused. If she doesn't it want it just to get rid of it.

Exasperated she throws her head back taking my hand for us to keep walking to class. "Because the stupid necklace has been giving me nightmares, if I give it to Care she might get them too, or she'll give it to Damon."

I smiled to myself. She might not be on speaking terms with my sister, but she's still looking out for her. We walked into class just before the bell rang, the two of us sat down quietly and waited for the substitute teacher to come in. A man walked in, this was not the sub we were used to, considering this was someone new to school, or to Town in general.

"Good morning, everyone." He placed his bag on the desk then turned to the black board and picked up a piece of chalk. Alaric Saltzman, he wrote his name then turned to us with a tense smile. "Alaric Saltzman. It's a mouthful, I know. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Saltzman is of German origins. My family emigrated here in 1755 to Texas. I, however, was born and raised in Boston. Now, the name Alaric belongs to a very dead great-grandfather I'll never be able to thank enough. You can call me Rick. I'm your new History teacher.

It was lunch time when I went back to Mr. Saltzman's class. I had a couple of questions for him, and since Bonnie was out on a picnic table with Elena explaining all of the curse she thinks she has because of the talisman I thought it was a perfect time to get away and seek some answers.

When I walked in Mr. Saltzman was speaking with Jeremy. They turned to me with a smile, Alaric stood up from his chair and waved me over. "Hangelina was it? What brought you back to my class so soon." I eyed Jeremy before turning back to the teacher.

"Sorry, I just wanted to ask about our grades. The sub had given us some small assignments, I was wondering if there's anything I can do to get ahead."

Jeremy pretended to whisper under his breath, but it was clear enough to hear. "Nerd." He called me, gaining a small smile from Mr. Saltzman.

I kept quiet, not giving him the satisfaction of looking at him, or showing him how much it bothered me. "I'll try to see if I can get you the material soon, but for now I don't have anything planned. I know the syllabus has everything planned out, but I wanted to add some things that should I believe should be discussed in my class, including black history."
