Chapter 24

Author's note: I will be skipping over Lexi's death. Damon killing her will be mentioned but I wanted this chapter to be about Hangelina learning more about the spells and trying them out. It is a short chapter I won't be going into much detail about the spells and charms she learned but they later on in the story she will slowly use them one by one.\\

"Where did Vicki say she was going?" Elizabeth asked me the second I sat in the chair across from her.

I let out a laugh, slouching back on the wooden chair. "Elizabeth, what makes you think I would know where she is or went?" She forces a smile clasping her hands on top of her desk.

It had been a few days since Vicki died, and now my mom, the Sheriff has been questioning anyone that was close to Vic, including Matt, Jeremy and others. "Sweetheart, just answer the questions, okay? It'll be faster."

I nodded with a sigh. "She didn't. I don't remember when the last time I saw her was."

"Did she tell her brother where she was going?"

Giving her a shrug, I crossed my arms over my lap, "No clue. I think that's a question for Matt, not me. I haven't even talked to Matt in a while either. She probably told Jeremy, her boy toy, to tell Matt."

"Are you close to Stefan Salvatore?"

"What does this have to do with anything?" I asked frowning at my mom. I know at the moment she's working and there is no use trying to get out of this with the Daughter Card. "Look, all I know is that he's dating Elena. I also know that his brother dated my sister Caroline very briefly." She sighed looking down at a folder in front of her.

The look she gave me unsettled me, like she knew something I didn't. "The reason I'm asking you about Stefan is because I have seen you get close to him, a lot closer than you were with Matt."

"I've known Matt my whole life, and Stefan just came into town. It's not like I'm trying to date him, which it almost sound like you're saying I'm trying to take my friends boyfriend. To be honest, I am close to him, but then again I am close to almost everyone in town." I grabbed my bag from the place on the floor, where I had dropped it before when I came into the office, picked it up and swung it over my shoulder.

Mom looked at me with a contemplating look. "Do you believe Vicki really has left town?"

"If I'm being honest, Vicki wasn't the best person, but she was Matt's sister and really the only family he had left. I hope that if she did leave, she comes back soon, because my friend is now alone. It's like he's mourning the death of two people. But if I can say one thing, Vicki can go to Hell, she made Matt worry for no reason and she did drugs, she even encouraged Jeremy to do them with her." I got up and wlked to the door and opened it.

Elizabeth stopped me before I could walk out. "Hangelina you can say things like that. Kelly isn't dead." She whispered the last part when an officer walked by the door.

I ducked my head turning to her, "She might as well be. She's never here, and when she is she only causes trouble," I whispered, giving her a tight smile then walked out heading out of her office. I closed the door then walked right back in she shook her head at me sadly. "Can I call you 'mom' now?" I waited till she nodded. "Well, mom, I'm going to visit dad just for today. I miss him and want to talk about boy's stuff. You're always busy and I don't want to bother you."

Letting out a deep breath she stands up and makes her way to me. "Sweetheart, I'm never too busy for you. Say hi to Bill for me." I kiss her cheek with a grin and finally walk out leaving the building.

I was the last person to be interrogated. When I walked down the steps of the police station I saw Elena talking with Stefan. I approached them, blankly. "Around you, people get hurt, and people die, and I just- it's too much. I-"
