The compass ended up taking me to a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. This little assignment took all day. The sun will be setting soon, meaning my mom has already got a call from school where they tell her I missed all my classes. I take out my phone and call Damon. "What do I do now?" I feel, in that moment, a light brush of wind causing me to turn. I hand him back the compass and he closed it.
"This is greatly appreciated Sweetheart." He gives me a wink and goes up to the beat up, dirty door. I rush over and take his arm pulling him away from the entrance. "What are you doing?" He grumbles quietly.
"What am I doing? What are you doing?" His eye twitches and waves his hands confused. "You're crazy if you go in there alone. What if they're not alone? You also haven't had a full blood-meal in a while. Bonnie's neck doesn't count!" I tried to whisper but it came quiet and harsh.
Stunned, he smirks leaning back. "You're worried about me, Little Witch." I roll my eyes and brush away the hair from my face. "I'm just thinking that you could be smarter than this."
"I'll be completely fine. Besides, I doubt they have a daylight ring. I can just run out of the building, and he won't be able to get to me without lighting himself in flames by the sun." I sigh and walk around him before I could touch the knob he pulled me back and pinned me to the door. "What do you think you're doing?"
"I'm going with you. I have my wand, so I'll be fine." I shrug with a smile.
Scoffing with a laugh he shakes his head at me, humorlessly. "No, you're not. You're not going in there, what if you get hurt? Go back to the car, Hangelina. Wait for me there."
I stomped my foot childishly, "Fine." I walked over to the car and got in with a frown. As soon as he walked in and the door closed behind him I heard gunshots, fired one after the other. "Idiot." I quickly got out of the car, but not before taking my wand from my bag and holding it to my chest, ready to use it incase of anything. Another gunshot rang, I was about to turn the knob, I froze at the loud noise.
My hand trembled as I turned the knob, "Don't come in!" Damon groaned out. "Stop there, I'm fine. We're just having a friendly conversation." He let out a grunt the growled in pain.
"Who is that? Whose there!?" I heard the other vampire. I stayed quiet covering my mouth with my hand. They began to talk quietly; I wasn't able to hear them clearly. Occasionally, whoever the other vampire was would raise his voice and yell. All I know now, from what I heard do to his emotional instability, he doesn't know who turned him, he wants to know how to walk in the sun and has been killing a bunch of people. As of now, they are in there piling up, one after another. Disgusting.
I heard footsteps approach, and I quickly ran to the side of the building and hid behind a tree. Using my wand, I casted a spell to make me blend into the woods behind me. I twirled the wand at me, and I was covered by the magic right as the vampire exited.
Once he was out of sight I ran for the door and pulled it open. "God, that hurt like a bitch!" Damon said standing in front of me. He had gotten up and was waiting for me to come and get him.
"You're such a drama queen." I sighed grabbing his arm and leading him to the passenger seat of his car.
He whined getting in, "I'm serious, he shot me with wooden bullets." I drove us to his home. He was able to walk on his own, but I still stuck close incase he weakened. We reached his bedroom, and I followed in. My eyes looked everywhere but him as he took off his torn and bloodied shirt.
Damon's phone rang as he found a shirt that was ironed and hanging from his closet. He answered and supported the cell with his shoulder, pressing it to his ear. "...No. I'm not okay. I was ambushed." He spoke angrily at the mirror, staring at himself. "I was shot. Now I'm vengeful. Just got to find him." He said tossing his ruined shirt to the floor. I sat at the end of his bed watching him with my hands placed behind me letting my weight on them to lean back. "You're kidding me. Why the hell is he there?" I frowned watching him pause then a smirk formed on his pink, thin lips.
"Who was that?" I asked getting up and walking over to him. He slipped on his new shirt but was struggling to button it up.
He lowered his eyes and watched me. "Stefan. He said Logan was at the school, working up the crowd."
Shaking my head, I cursed at Logan. "He's such a douche." My finger was doing the last button when I caught his gaze. It burned me, lit me up and made me feel something. I had been trying my best to ignore these feelings, not only was he attractive, but he also had his moments where he made me feel special. Damon knew how to make me laugh. Slowly his chin dipped, but stopped for a second, giving me an out if I didn't want it. But I do, I want it so bad, even when I know I shouldn't.
I closed my eyes when I felt his lips on mine. They were soft and warm, causing me to whimper at the pressure on my mouth. Damon curled an arm around my waist and pulled me to him. I pressed my hands to his shoulders clinging to them. This kiss was hard, yet patient. Our lips moved ever so slightly, almost like he wanted to take his time. I was a puddle in his grip. Damon has me and I'm not sure I want him to let go. All this time I had been wanting him, but I though there was no way he would want me. I was the normal girl; I am clumsy and slow. I wasn't the prettiest, but I know I'm worth a lot. I just didn't think I was enough for Damon.
I gasped pulling away from his hold. Damon's hands remained at my waist, glued to me as if he was afraid I would run away. My black shirt had risen up and his hands had gone underneath the material. "Hangeli—" His phone rang, and he rolled his eyes. Damon's jaw clenched taking the cell out from his pocket and letting me go. The warmth I felt left me with a shiver. He answered it while I brushed back my hair. "What." He snapped to the person on the other side. "Caroline? Yeah, I'll be there."
Suddenly, the rush and heat I felt was gone and I was on him. "What happened to my sister? Is she okay?"
I could tell he was hesitating to answer me. "Logan took her." He picked up a gun, one that held wooden bullets and tucked it into he back of his jeans.
"I'll kill that son of a bitch if there's so much of a hair out of place. Those blonde stands are natural, girls wood pay to be her. Where is she!?" I screamed.
He placed his hands on my shoulders and sat me at his bed where I had been when I first started to observe his bare chest. "Relax. She'll be fine. I'll go with Stefan to get her. Once she's home I'll call you."
Taking my wand and pressing it to his neck I glared at him, "You're out of your damn mind if you think I'm letting you go alone." His eyes darkened, swallowing hard I saw his Adam's apple bob. "I'll shove my wand so far up your ass it'll stab you in the heart killing you. I'll watch you die slowly, Damon. Do not test me!"
Looking away then back at me with a grossed out face he said, "That's very graphic. You're staying." I was about to yell at him again when he picked me up and tossed me onto his bed.
I tried to get up, but his thick black blankets swallowed me. He was nowhere in the room when I finally got up. My head snapped to his dresser where he had left his keys, but they were no longer there. Huffing frustrated, I laid back down on the bed. If I go walking to the school, it will take me ages. I'm too far from civilization.
Deciding to kick his ass when he comes back, I lay down and let the blankets dips and mold into the curves of my body. My eyes felt heavy, and I drifted to sleep. I don't know what time it is when I wake up. I heard a bump, while the shower in Stefan's room was running. I walked out and saw Elena rushing down the stairs. "Elena?" She snapped her neck at me, there were tears in her eyes. Her lips quivered and it broke me. I had been such a bitch to her, but right now she needed me.
"Come with me?" I nodded and took her outstretched hand. She led me to her car, and I got in with her. We went away as she was breathing heavily, we simultaneously put our seatbelts on, clicking them in place. "I look like her, Hangelina. I look exactly like Katherine." My eyes widened and my jaw dropped in shock. "He has this photograph of her from 1864." We were in the middle of the road, only trees and grass surrounded us. I looked at her the same time she glanced at me and when we turned back to the road it was too late. There was a hooded person standing in the middle of the street. Elena's car and the person collided and sent us flying. We rolled with the car and once it stopped we were upside down. Instantly, I lost consciousness.
