Today was a Wednesday.
It had been a few days after the dinner at La Yeon and Soonyoung still hadn’t sent her a message. Tessa begun to wonder if she unknowingly gave him a wrong number. Like maybe she had typed in a two instead of a five. Or a six instead of a nine.
Tessa was in her office, already in her sports bra and joggers. There were no meetings today, just a regular training session with Group A. Thus the get up. It was now four in the afternoon, a solid hour before the first of Group A would start arriving for their training.
She was currently seated at her table, determined to be distracted with work.
Tessa took out the reports and started devouring the latest updates on the company’s current projects. One of them being SEVENTEEN’s world tour. The arenas and stadiums were all booked, the accommodations were all set. The staff list and the security that they would be traveling with were all confirmed.
The company had already released the list of cities that the group would be visiting for two months in August and September. However, their staff were still in negotiations with a few other stadiums in a few other countries. After all, CARATS were all over the world. The members should visit more than just North America.
She had casually mentioned that the Philippines should be part of the list too. Negotiations were ongoing with the SM Mall of Asia in Manila, where they had held their last concert before the pandemic, so Tessa was hoping that it would come to fruition. She did secretly hope that they could find a large enough venue for Cebu. Perhaps an outdoor concert could be proposed. If they could make concessions for weather eventualities, that is.
She would have to run that by the staff and the members. Let their well-oiled machine do the work.
Tessa picked up the file for Fromis_9 when a notification sounded from one of her phones. She placed the file back and picked up her phone.
It was Soonyoung! Her heart skipped a beat.
‘Finally!’ She thought to herself.
Hoshi: Hey, boss! Hope you aren’t too busy to read my message. We ended GoSe taping a little early today. We were able to figure out the riddles and were released early. Is today a good time to visit the trainees?
Tessa started typing out a reply but then deleted it. ‘Don’t be too eager.’ She reminded herself. ‘Wait for twenty minutes before responding. If he’s sincere about coming to see the trainees, he can wait for twenty more minutes.’
She put the phone down and picked up Fromis_9’s file again. She leafed through the pages and tried to focus. But it wasn’t working. She could feel herself getting excited about the prospect of seeing Hoshi.
Dance.
At the prospect of seeing Hoshi dance.
‘That’s what I was thinking.’ Tessa told herself. He was an incredible investment. It was only normal to want to see the fruits of everyone’s love *cough* labor of love on him.
Tessa shook her head to clear her thoughts then got up and started to do some stretching. She was going to be dancing, after all. Stretching was essential to avoid injuries. Every dancer, idol trainee or not, knew that. Besides, she knew her stretches were at least ten minutes long. That time should be long enough.
After getting up from her knee and leg stretches, Tessa grabbed her phone.
Tessa: Of course, today is a good time as any. Trainee practice starts in less than an hour. Pretty sure they would love this surprise.
The reply came almost instantaneously.
Hoshi: Great! Be there soon!
Tessa put her phone down on the table and walked over to her couch. She steered clear of her phone for the time being so she wouldn’t be tempted to reply. A notification sound rang out a few minutes later.
