Tessa watched as Hyun downed the last of his Taro milk tea. He was seated on the white couch in her office. Hwan was seated on the black couch, across his twin.
The Han siblings were pleased with their afternoon’s work with the charity event and thought about rewarding themselves. The sweet drink from Cofioca was a favorite of the trio and was present in many of their sibling gatherings.
“Okay, time for me to go back to the office.” Hyun declared. He stood up abruptly that it looked almost comical. He walked towards the sliding doors and waved goodbye to his sister. “Will we see you at dinner tonight, bumblebee?”
Hwan, who had not finished his milk tea yet, continued to sip his drink as he followed behind his younger twin.
“Depends on how training goes tonight, Kuya.” Tessa replied.
“Monthly evaluations are tomorrow, Hyun.” The older twin supplied and all three knew what that meant. The trainees would be on frenzy mode.
“I, for one, am definitely not going to be at dinner tonight. Jieun and I will be going to Jungsik.”
“OOOh, fancy.” Tessa whistled.
Hwan laughed. “It’s our anniversary.”
“Six years together, Kuya. That’s absolutely awesome. Congratulations!”
“What can I say? She just gets me.”
“I better step up my game then.” Hyun sighed. “If I don’t at least find a date for hyung’s wedding soon, I’m going to have to attend it with a paper bag over my head.”
Tessa and Hwan burst out laughing.
“Don’t feel so pressured, Kuya. You won’t be the only one there alone.” Tessa told her brother.
“Oh my dearest bumblebee.” Hwan approached her and gave her a big hug. He held on to her a lot longer than usual.
Tessa just stood there in bewilderment.
“See you guys when I see you.” Hyun called as he left the office and walked towards the elevator.
Hwan released Tessa from his embrace and looked at her. “Hyun and I are entering military service by the end of this year.” He sighed heavily.
“Kuya… It’s only for two years. Mom, Dad and I can certainly hold down the fort for that period of time.”
“That’s not what I was saying, bumblebee. And you know it.”
Tessa blinked rapidly as she looked at her brother. “What exactly were you trying to say, Kuya?”
He inhaled deeply. “I think he can make you happy, bumblebee.”
Tessa was still confused. “Who?”
“You know who.”
Tessa bit on her tongue. She wouldn’t put it past her brother to try to trick her into revealing something. “There’s no one, Kuya.”
Hwan looked down and pat her on the left shoulder twice. “I really do think he can make you happy.”
“Kuya, what are you on about?”
“I have to get to the office. I’ll see you tomorrow, bumblebee.”
“Okay?” Tessa walked over to the black couch and grabbed a throw pillow. As she sat cross-legged, she thought deeply about that awkward conversation with her overprotective brother.
She was really only chatting with Soonyoung. As far as she knew, her stepfather was discreet about it. He would have shared that conversation strictly with her mom. Had SEVENTEEN’s motivational visit to the trainees been leaked to the upper echelons? That was a group visit, though.
