Soonyoung knocked on the door.
“Come in.” A voice from inside the room called.
Soonyoung opened the door and walked in. He plopped onto the bed and sighed heavily.
From his chair beside the bed, Seungcheol looked at Soonyoung with worry on his face. “He’s pursuing Tessa, isn’t he?”
With his face still buried in the pillow, Soonyoung nodded. “How did you know?” He asked, voice muffled.
Seungcheol moved his chair closer to the bed. “I doubt there would be anything that would upset you and bother you this much.”
When Soonyoung just pouted, Seungcheol continued. “How long has it been going on, Hosh?”
“Since the first time we left for the BeTS tour. They met when Gyu came to pick me up at the Han mansion. Tessa told me that’s when she started having the dreams.”
“Dreams?”
“Ne, hyung. Dreams that were more like memories of their past lives where they were husband and wife.”
“Whoa. Back up… What?”
“Both Gyu and Tessa have had dreams where they both relive their past lives as husband and wife.”
“This may sound a little far-fetched but have they been able to confirm these past lives?”
“Hard not to, hyung, when you’ve been a King of the Joseon dynasty.”
“Gyu… was a king?” Seungcheol stared at Soonyoung in shock. “I mean, he is a Gwangsam Kim…”
“Hyung, that’s in this life as Kim Mingyu. Gyu can’t seem to separate his two lives.”
“What about Tessa? What does she really think about all this?”
“She’s been clear that she is Tessa Han now. Whatever their past lives were about, she wants them done and sealed.”
Seungcheol rubbed his temple. “My history is a little hazy but which King did Gyu believe himself to be?”
“Jeonjo.”
“And which wife was Tessa?”
“Deuk-im.”
Seungcheol took a second then it hit him. “The one he always wanted and waited for?”
“Ne, hyung.”
“Damn.” Seungcheol breathed.
“Okay, I get it now.”
Soonyoung sat up in bed with a frustrated look on his face.
“But wait… which leg of the BeTS tour did they meet, Hosh?”
“The first one. The night before we left for North America. The night after Tessa’s birthday party.”
“Wasn’t that way back in August?”
“Ne, hyung. But Gyu didn’t act on it until we were in Manila.”
“Is that why he was so silent back then?”
“I think so, hyung.”
“It’s been a few months then…” Seungcheol ran a hand through his hair. “I’m surprised it went on this long, to be honest.”
Soonyoung mumbled a few words that Seungcheol could not understand.
“Look, I won’t meddle in your business. But if it were me, I would have confronted Gyu immediately. I wouldn’t have let him have all these illusions of grandeur.”
“Believe me, hyung. Gyu is just so determined and just so sure about all this. He’s like a bull who won’t take no for an answer. He even said that he was going to find her in all her lifetimes.”
“I’m always here for you, Hosh. I care about Kwon Soonyoung too, not just about Hoshi. You know you can come to me about anything, right?”
Soonyoung remained silent.
“Okay, well.. Good talk..” Seungcheol teased.
Soonyoung sat up in bed. “Hyung, how do I deal with someone with such a closed mind?”
“What is the opposite of closed?”
Soonyoung’s eyebrow shot up. “Opened?”
“Exactly.”
“Uh, hyung…. What does that have to do with my situation?”
Seungcheol chuckled. “He isn’t giving in right? Then you have to keep an open mind about the whole situation. Accept that he wants to pursue her. But the real question is, will he do it successfully?”
Soonyoung’s face started to lighten up.
“As cocky as it sounds, Tessa is already your girlfriend Hosh. You’ve already won the war. Don’t let a little skirmish bother you.”
“You’re absolutely right. Tessa and I are in a good place. I can’t allow Gyu to plant even a little seed of doubt in our relationship.”
Seungcheol nodded.
“Kamsamnida, hyung.”
The leader smiled, satisfied. “Now go home to your woman. We’ll see you tomorrow at the taping."
Soonyoung got up and hugged his leader, quickly rushing out the door. “See you tomorrow!”
“Don’t be late!” The leader called.
“When am I ever?” Soonyoung shouted in response from the staircase.
Seungcheol chuckled and replied to himself. “You don’t want an answer to that question.”
