“What was that about?” Seungcheol dragged Mingyu and Soonyoung into their common living room after they had come home from their Vogue Korea photoshoot.

Mingyu looked away from the SVT leader. Soonyoung looked down and wrung his hands. The two were seated beside each other on the long couch. Seungcheol stood in front of them with his arms crossed in front of his chest.

Vernon was staying a safe distance away from them but close enough to hear the goings on. Jun crept up beside him and placed a finger to his own lips as Vernon looked at him. They were both hidden behind a potted plant.

It took a lot for Seungcheol to invoke his status as a leader so something must have happened at the photoshoot.

“Somebody needs to start talking in the next five minutes or so help me God…” Seungcheol’s voice was so low that it almost sounded like a growl.

Soonyoung cleared his throat. “Mianhaeyo, hyung. I lost my cool today.” (Sorry, bro.)

“Why did you lose your cool? What is going on?”

Mingyu stayed silent.

“Hyung, there is something private going on between me and Mingyu. If it’s alright with you, I’d like to speak to him in private please.” Soonyoung pleaded with the leader.

“Listen, you two. I have no problems with you working on your issues. But when it interferes with our work, our livelihood, our dreams then that’s when I step in. We’ve put in too much into SVT to just throw it all away and act like its nothing. Remember, we are not only responsible for all thirteen of us. We’re also responsible for our managers, our staff and the managing company. Realize that we’re also responsible for the job continuity of the security personnel and even maintenance personnel of the company. We cannot be selfish.”

Mingyu looked up at the leader. “Joesonghamnida.” (I'm sorry.)

“As long as you both know that your actions today were irresponsible. Now you better fix this and ensure that it doesn’t happen again. I have to go talk to our managers and find a way to clean up your mess.” The leader gave Mingyu and Soonyoung stern looks and went up the stairs to go to his room, presumably to make some calls.

Soonyoung and Mingyu sat in silence for a few minutes while Vernon and Jun watched them both from behind the potted plant.

“I am not going to give her up, Hoshi-hyung.” Mingyu suddenly declared. “I love you as my brother but she is one half of my soul. Without her, I feel incomplete.”

Soonyoung did not respond. He continued to stare straight into space.

“Ever since I found out that my dream girl was Tessa, it ate me up inside. You both love each other so much but I also know that she and I transcend time. She and I were always meant to be together.”

“Gyu, the past has already passed. You are not Jeongjo and she is not Deuk-im in this lifetime.”

“I knew you would say that.” Mingyu gritted his teeth.

Jun and Vernon could see that the 6’2” rapper was holding himself back with great effort.

“You won’t be able to fathom the depths of emotion I feel for Tessa, hyung. To have that ache inside you. To have that longing for the missing piece. It’s all-consuming.” Mingyu continued.

Soonyoung cleared his throat. “I do, actually. I have loved her since I was a trainee.”

“I have loved her since I was a boy in the 1700s.” Mingyu countered.

“This is why I haven’t reached out to have a conversation with you yet. You’re still very much in this mindset. There’s no reasoning with you.”

“Hyung, I respect you. I really do. And that is the only reason why I haven’t gone full throttle in pursuing her. We both love her. You say you’ve loved her for awhile now but I have loved her even before she was Tessa. You say you want me to understand that its not a good thing to pursue your brother’s girlfriend but I also want you to understand that she was my wife first.“ Mingyu paused. He ran his hand through his hair and licked his lips, sighing. “Hyung, I’m sorry to have to say this but I will never stop pursuing her. Not now and not in the next lifetimes that we may have. For as long as my soul will be reborn, she will always be that one soul who will be my equal. Nothing and no one else will do.”

Soonyoung’s eyes narrowed. “Then we have nothing else to talk about.” The older idol started to stand up.

Mingyu placed a hand on his shoulder.

“I do not intend to disrespect you in any way, hyung. You should know that. Again, I won’t go full-throttle in pursuing her. But I will always find ways to show my appreciation. Given as I am the one destined for her, I also hope that you would be tolerant of me.”

“I have been, Gyu.”

“Extend your patience please, hyung. You will have to deal with me for as long as you and Tessa are together. Once you break up with her, things won’t be so hard for you and me. Just know that there will never be a day that I won’t love her.”

Soonyoung got up to leave. “This conversation is over, Gyu.”

As soon as his hyung was out of earshot, Mingyu muttered. “She will be mine.”

Jun and Vernon looked at each other with panic-stricken eyes and quietly slipped away.
