Advika's POV

"All the best, Adu baby!" My mother screamed from the house as I dashed out of it.

I'm not sure how many times I have to tell my mother not to call me Adu! But I don't have enough time to argue with her on this topic. So instead of wasting my time, I decided to leave my house as soon as possible.

"Thank you, mom," I said from outside as I attempted to start my scooter.

But, as my luck isn't always on my side during critical times, it happened again today. Scooty did not begin as he usually does. I even tried kicking it off, but it didn't work.

I kicked its body and then left it standing. I believe it has some grudges with me.

Now that I am running late and only a few minutes away from achieving my dream and this scooty is acting up.

Urgh! I despise everything!!

"Girl? Are you okay?" an uncle asked "Why are you yelling by standing in the middle of the road?"

His question caused me to look around, and I found myself in the middle of the colony, screaming and talking to myself.

Have I actually gone insane that I don't remember walking to this location and yelling?

"Sorry!" I apologized, feeling embarrassed.

I quickly grabbed my purse and ran out of there before anyone could see me and make fun of me.

As I walked down the streets, I noticed two girls pointing at me and laughing as if I were some sort of joker.

Don't tell me I have something on my face!

I can't go to an interview like this right now! I need to check my face before going there.

My head turned around, and I caught sight of a car. It seemed to me to be the best option for looking at my face. I dashed over to it and saw my reflection in the glass of the window.

Then I realized why they were all laughing at me. I got the mustache from the lassi* my mother made me drink before leaving the house.

Urgh!

I wiped it away with the back of my palm, but it smudged my lipstick.

Why me, God?

I cleaned the lipstick with tissue paper, which I always keep in my bag. I then opened my mouth and stretched my lips to ensure that it didn't smudge any further and everything is fine and up to the point.

When I pouted, my mirror vanished and a face appeared in front of me.

A boy in the driver's seat began staring at me as if I had grown two horns on my head, my lips froze in the shape of a pout and my eyes blinked several times.

"What?" he inquired.

I pursed my lips, tucked my hair behind my ears, and murmured sorry to him before slapping my head and running away from him, not without listening to his chuckle.

Why am I embarrassing myself so much?

Without waiting for him to stay anything I just ran away.

When I arrived at the taxi stand, I discovered that there was not a single taxi in sight. How did all of the taxis become so busy so early in the morning?

As I continued walking, I came across a taxi that made me smile. I dashed over to it and sat down right away before anyone could take it away from me. I have to reach there on time.

"All right, let's go!" I spoke to the driver, who was smoking and standing casually beside the taxi.

"Today is our strike, ma'am." He informed me and again got himself busy with smoking.
