Chapter 7
Cinder POV
*NOTE* If you have not read Fairest, this may possibly contain mini spoilers or may make no sense at all.The cells were constructed white quartz from another planet, lined with lunar lava or LL. Lunar Lava isn't actual lava, but forms in the bottoms of large gas filled caverns. No one really knows exactly where it came from, but is still very useful in holding facilities as it will slowly eat at the skin if made contact with. Most prisoners when told this, are very cooperative when it comes to staying in their cells.
There are guards in every open space for this encounter. Anything could happen and they're here (against my orders might I add) to protect me.
"Please, open her door." I ask the warden. He respectfully nods his head and swipes a key card over the door. The first thing I notice is the smell coming from the room. It's like a breeze passing a patch of Lilies of the Valley. A warm, yellowed light passes over my feet.
Levena is sitting in a rocking chair with a book laid across her lap. Her eyes lift up to meet mine. "Have you come to take my life?" She whispers with the most sorrow I have ever heard. The first tears I have ever experienced spill down my face.
I shake my head rapidly. "No, of course not. I couldn't."
Levena's eyes visibly fill with warmth and hope. "Please, may I have a chance to explain myself? I have put in many requests for an audience with you."
I nod and take a seat. She tells me everything about her childhood and the ways of her family. She tells of all the cruel ways of Luna and her desires for the planet's welfare. Levena proceeds to go into detail of the personal aspects of her life, and the justification of every cruel thing she oversaw, and it dawns what turned her this way. (Basically Levena is telling the story of Fairest)
"The only thing I can do is apologize. I'm sorry." Levena finished.
"I am sorry as well."
Levena smiled gratefully. "But you said you wanted Luna to have a good leader? I may not become queen because of the laws you have written." I handed her the documents that were causing me the most trouble. "I can fix this. I'll make everything right.. for you."Levena ran her finger over her own signature. "What do I need to do?"
All right go to Marissa Meyer.
This is just a quick filler that had to be done. I made it short for a reason! It's boring! :D Things will be getting better, especially after Exams are over. I've already been writing chapters that go in the middle of the story, but haven't written the next chapter to be published. Oops. When I get a good idea, I have to write it down so I wont forget! Anyway, good luck on your end of the year tests!
