Thorne POV
As I ran down the hall, all I could think of is that Cinder has gone insane.
The same thing happened to Princess Winter. They finally declared her insane after months of screaming nights and cries to clean away the blood from her drapes.
"Doctor Erland!" I yelled while plowing through the research wing's door. A nurse looked up at me, terrified. "I need to see the Lunar Advisor!"
She jumped up and led me through a series of halls until I found Dmitri furiously going through old records.
"Doctor!" I pulled him up from his seat. "It's Cinder! She started screaming something about blood and ghosts and-"
The man's eyes widened. "Oh no."
"Come on!" I grabbed his fancy bag off the counter and pushed him out the door. We ran all the way to where I left everyone. Cinder was curled up on the floor with a concerned Cress in her arms.
"Selene, tell me what happened." Dr. Erland whispered. He tried to pull her away from Cress. Cinder's grip tightened in her tiny frame.
"Blood. So much blood." Another round of sobs escaped Cinder's mouth.
"How much bioelectricity have you been using lately?"
Cinder's head rose up and she seemed to concentrate. "Not much. You know how I feel about that. Why?"
"You've been hallucinating. That is a common reaction to blockage from the lack of bioelectricity. I must insist you use your - er, powers more often."
"No!" Cinder shouted. "Absolutely not!"
I felt my smirk grow on my face. "Cinder's going crazy! Yes!" I made a pulling down motion with my fist.
Cinder started to get up. Soon her nose was about an inch from mine. I watched her royal clothes materialize on her body and her hair float up above her head until it was in a fancy bun.
"Captain, I'm not going insane." She whispered lowly.
"I said crazy, not insane." I corrected her smugly. "I notice you don't hesitate to use your powers right now,"
She scrunched her eyebrows together. "I wish I knew where you got your gut."
"Running from the whole world with Her Majesty in my 'borrowed' ship certainly helped," I grinned.
"Princess." I added as an afterthought.
Cinder looked like she was about to deck me. Her eyes glanced over my shoulder for a second. I looked back. Nothing of interest caught my eye.
I forcefully pulled her into a hug and whispered in her ear, "Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'll explain later,"
She snatched herself away and walked into the conference room. Everyone was looking at me with different expressions. Kai looked jealous and Wolf looked terrified, two rare sights.
"Someone's caring side is coming out." Scarlet stated.
"Shut up Scarlet. Lets go." Wolf and I entered behind Cinder. A long table stretched across the room. Each end had it's own camera and net screen set-up. Cinder was headed towards the far end of the room. This end had a floor to ceiling window that overlooked The Eastern Commonwealth. Cinder looked out over the city longingly for a moment. Even I stopped for a minute to remember the past. Hovers flew over the long forgotten tar roads. Tiny figures scrambled from building to building, shop to shop.
"I wonder what they're doing without Miss Linh Cinder the renowned mechanic." I said. "Even I had my men bring business to your stand when I was on the run.. Which happened to be 90% of the time."
