Cinder POV

My dreams were haunted with memories from my visit on Earth.  I want to be angry with Kai, but if I was a free woman, then I suppose he is a free man, as well.  If he was so upset about me dancing with someone, it seems he would try to be the better person and not just pick up a girl, but whatever.

Push down your girly side, Cinder. She's clawing her way out.

I swiped all of those things out of my mind and concentrated on thinking about my other problems.  An agency of crazed murderers were looking for every possible way to kill me and I was being blamed for storing weapons on Mars when I didn't even know Martians really existed! I'm assuming this emergency is about that and it's probably not a real emergency. I climbed off my bed and walked to the cockpit.  Earth reflected off the rear view cameras and Luna was in my view.

"Hey Cinder.  Have a good nap?" Cress asked sweetly.

"Not exactly, but I guess I needed it," I plopped down beside her, "So what's the emergency?"

"Nothing, really.  The Mars people caused a ruckus, yesterday, and the people are demanding you come back during this," she flipped a switch on the dash.

"So I'm going to show up, tell them to leave, and be left with nothing else to do but be hunted and killed?"

"Basically,"

I leaned my head on the headrest, "Can I ask you something?"

Cress nodded.

"Do you think I'm going crazy?  I saw that bloody ghost and I saw a shadow in a window that was three stories up.  Now my head hurts and I feel tipsy.  What does all that mean?" I rubbed my temples for emphasis.

"No, I don't think you're going crazy.  I think you've got an over active imagination and are under too much stress for your age.  I know you don't like using your glamour, but you're going to have to use it at least a little.  Maybe you could glamour yourself to be a little taller or have a different hair color," Cress suggested.

"I don't know.  I'm fairly tall as I am, at least for a girl, and I would look silly as a blonde,"

"Maybe glamour yourself somewhere not noticeable.  Erase a freckle or something small like that," she smiled her charming crescent smile.

"I'll think about it," I sunk down in a bit of a pout.

"So what happened with Kai?"

I shrugged, "Who knows.  I'm not too upset about it.  No one wants a half robot Lunar over a pretty, human girl,"

"I thought no one liked short, shy, Shell girls, but the Captain likes me well enough.  You just need to show him what he's missing out on,"

I laughed to myself.

We sat alone for a while.  I could hear other passengers and crew moving around in the ship.  Thorne's flirty voice was the loudest and I watched as Cress' eyes glazed over in happiness.  I really needed to get them to go on a date.  They kept talking about going on a trip around the world so Cress could experience it all.  I hoped they weren't staying just because of me.

"Hey Cress!" Thorne strutted in and kissed her, "Hey Cinder!"

"Do I get a kiss?" I asked.

"Nope,"

"Aw.." I fake pouted.

"Get out of my chair so I can land this thing," Thorne kicked me out of the pilot's seat.  We gracefully landed on the pad.  I was glad to see that there were no people outside to deal with. We walked inside Artemisia without any trouble until I saw the Mars ship
