Crisp Summer Air

The summer breeze was blowing through the window, filling the small room with bliss and warmth. You were sitting of the bench of your bay window, reading Pride and Prejudice, the sun gleaming onto the pages. It was August 29th, 1991; the summer was coming to an end and you were patiently awaiting the news.
"Y/n! You got the letter! Come downstairs right now!" Your mother called.
"Alright I'll be right there," you yelled back, anxiously putting your book down and closing the window.
You traveled down the stairs quickly and came into the kitchen, your mom handed you your letter and you immediately opened it. It was your Hogwarts acceptance letter. You smiled at the page as you read

Miss Y/n Emerson,
We are please to let you know that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry...
You looked up at your mom, swiftly handing her your letter, she looks at the letter and then looks back at your with a cocky smile.
"Finally, I was beginning to think that it would never come. We'll go to get your things in a couple days seeing as you'll be leaving on the first." She muttered towards you. "I expect you will be in Ravenclaw, anything less and don't come home." She sternly spoke.
You nodded and walked back upstairs to your bedroom. You laid down on your bed and sighed, 'Thank Merlin I got my letter, I can finally get out of this shit hole', you thought to yourself. Sure your life seemed perfect from the outside, but in reality it was a mess. Your parents split when you were young, you father left you with your mother to go start a new life on his own, leaving you to deal with your moms strictness and pure blooded expectations on your own. You wanted more than anything to go to Hogwarts, and live your life. Your eyes fell back on your book, as you picked it up to read a bit more before heading to sleep.

"GET YOUR ASS UP Y/N! I WANT TO GET THIS SHOPPING DONE AND OVER WITH" Tiffany, your mother, screamed from the hall.
You opened your eyes groggily, looked at the bright white ceiling as the morning light drowns in. You rip up the covers and walk over to your wardrobe, picking out a brown and white striped sweater and blue skinny jeans paired with brown high heeled boots. You throw your hair into a ponytail with a claw clip, and head downstairs to you to accompany your mom to Diagon Ally.
"Alright, you are going to Olivander's to get your wand. I will take care of the rest, don't take too long understood?" Tiffany insisted.
You nodded your head in response, then started walking toward the wand shop. A boy with platinum blond hair walked out of the store as you were going in, with his new wand in hand, and his father behind him.
"Ah, Miss Emerson! I was wondering when I'd see you. Here for you wand are you?" Olivander joyfully inquired.
"Um, yes... I guess I am." You uttered shyly.
"Here try this one, go on give it a try..." Olivander answered.
You gave your wand a twirl toward the bookshelf, leading to the books rapidly falling off the shelf. You turned back to Mr. Olivander, and set the wand on the counter.
     "Ah maybe not... here try this one." Olivander trailed off.
     You gave this wand a twirl and the books went back up onto the shelves, and you felt a warm glow around you.
     "Yes! Perfect, a 13 inch cherrywood wand with flowers at the base. I should have known this wand would suit you perfectly! Go on dear and have a good first year at Hogwarts." Mr. Olivander said, leading you to the door.
      You headed out of the store to a small table outside a café. You sat down waiting for your mom to come and get you to apperate home. About 20 minutes later your mom found you and before you knew it, you were back home.
