The archangel continues to laugh as Jace rolls his eyes. Everyone else rises from their seats and pays their due respect to the iconic leader of the angelic army by bowing their heads. All except Artemis.
She stands up as well, but she doesn't bow. She stares at their visitor, who fixes his gaze on her. At that moment, Artemis' eyes begin to glow an intense and frightening shade of gold as she raises her hand and fires a golden wave of energy that hits Michael and slams him against the wall.
She takes a few steps forward without interrupting the wave that pushes the Archangel against the wall. Stefan tries to get in her way, but she holds him back with her other hand without hurting him like she did to Michael.
Stefan: What the hell are you doing, Artemis?
Stefan screams and Artemis turns her head and smiles at him.

Artemis: Guess again!
Artemis' mouth opens and closes, but the voice that comes out isn't her own. It's more childlike and cartoonish.
Stefan: JJ? Is that you?
JJ: Yes, Dad. It's me.
Stefan: You took control of mom?
JJ: I had to.
Stefan: Why?
JJ: Because of him.
JJ turns his mother's head and looks at the man he's holding captive with grim eyes.
JJ: He's not Michael.
Stefan: What?
JJ: He's something else that just took the form of the archangel. He's a shapeshifter.
At that moment Sebastian beckons to Damon and with a small movement of the boy's hand the magical handcuffs leave Jace's hands and appear on the shapeshifter's wrists.
The sacred metal coming into contact with his skin "forces" the shapeshifter to take his true form. Blond hair, brown eyes, and an age between twenty and twenty-five. JJ lowers Artemis' hand and pulls back the energy wave, whereupon the shapeshifter falls to the ground with a thud.
