Deborah Einstein

Formerly lived in Acorn Avenue, Deborah used to live at home with her mum, Denise. Until her whole world turned completely upside down. Stateless. Roofless. Abandoned. Her own mum was an addict. Seriously hooked on to the alcohol. There was just no way out. The landlord didn't help out much either. They kicked them out of the house, and since then, have been depending on rubbish and trash to survive.

Unfortunately, one morning Deborah happened to wake up and had discovered that she was gone. Her mum had just left her there lying on the streets alone. "Where the hell is she?" Deborah asked herself as she started looking around.

The alley was horrible. Dark. Gloomy. And Smelly. Only the faintest glimpse of a lamp post can be seen within spitting distance. But not close enough to reassure her though. "Maybe she went out to go and get something." Deborah considered. But then, after a period of time, she started to worry. "Ok. Where the hell did she go? She's supposed to come back here." Deborah added with concern. She emerged out of a soggy, soaked blanket she's been using and stretched her legs. But it hurts to stretch them with the cold and god knows what else has channeled into her system. Just then, a police car rolled up onto the footpath ahead of the alley. Deborah dashed behind a bin and peeked out from the corner.

"She's been missing for hours now." one of the officers said as they were walking down the street. "She?" Deborah asked herself and took a step out from behind. She crawled amongst the wall silently to avoid getting caught. "Some sort of... alcoholic was spotted at a crossroads not too long ago." the cop spoke. Deborah's eyes widened and then, she almost choked on her own breath. "The crossroads..." she added to herself. "The crossroads. Where the fuck do i go?" she asked herself panicking. "She could be dead for all I know!" she added anxiously.

Just then, the cops returned to their armed car. They got in, and drove on.

Deborah briefly poked her head out to check if anyone else was still hanging around. No. Looks like it's all clear. She took a couple of precautious steps to double make sure there is no one around. Strangely, it's all dead quiet. Almost... too quiet. Unsettling. On edge. Like as if someone is waiting for her.

Deborah tried to shake off the feeling and focused on trying to find out where her mum is.
