JISOO
"Kim Jisoo or simply said, Jichu."
This was way too embarrassing for me to admit to anyone but I quite actually gasped at hearing my name, again. It was just the way it sounded on her tongue. So delicate and innocent.
My only question was; how did she know my nickname, I'd never told it to anyone.
As if she already knew what I would think because Jennie continued.
"And yes, I do know your nickname, Jichu. I think it's adorable."
My eyes widened at the word adorable. Kim Jennie just said something about me that was adorable. I know it was just my nickname, but I couldn't care less. As long as it was connected to me I was flying on a pink cloud.
"The whole point of these tapes is the reasons I killed myself and the people who made my life not worth living. Now, the story's a bit different when it comes to you, Jisoo because you didn't make my life miserable like most other people in my life. You made it bearable and interesting."
It was like a heavy rock was lifted off my chest. I already knew I couldn't live with the fact that I had had a bad influence on her life, so the fact that I didn't - that I had the opposite - was so uplifting to hear. Now the question was; why did I get a tape then? Why was I important enough for that?
"You and I never really talked much, Jisoo, but I felt like I somehow connected with you every time we would have a three-sentence conversation or even just bump shoulders in the hallway. It was like you were carrying gold dust around, spreading it on the people who needed it. Which, as you can tell, I did. When I saw you it was like catching a small glimpse of hope and happiness."
Oh wow. I was speechless. I felt like I always had something to comment on the things Jennie said, but this time I was speechless. I was probably shining with joy right now.
"I have a lot to tell you Jisoo, and that's why I gave you another tape."
Another tape? My eyes land on the box containing the tapes, but there are no more left.
"You're probably searching for it right now, but it's not with all the other tapes. This one is personal. That's why you're the only one that will get to hear it."
My heart was racing at the thought and my mind was almost aching with how hard I was thinking. My mind searched for every possible solution to this extra tape, but nothing reasonable was found.
"I want you to find my mother. She's the one with the tape. I want you to go to my address and find her. I can already predict that everyone else listening to this will try to go and get it from her, but she will only give it to one person. You, Jisoo. She knows how you look so she will know it's you. With the tape is a note. I want you to follow the instructions on the note before you listen to the tape."
My breath was uneven and fighting to get the time of day in my mouth. I couldn't control myself. I felt so many emotions. But first of all; I couldn't wait to hear that tape.
That was why, as soon as I heard the ending click of the tape, I raced down the stairs and yelled out a quick goodbye as I slammed the door shut after me. Not in an angry way, in an 'I'm-very-busy' kind of way.
I couldn't drive yet so my bike was the only solution. It was raining and I was already soaked as I started pushing the pedals with full force. I knew exactly where Jennie lived- of course, I did, couldn't call me a stalker for no reason - so getting there didn't take too long since her house wasn't very far away from mine.
I was getting more nervous by the second as I was nearing the house, still at full speed. As soon as I got there I jumped off my bike leaving it on the grass in front of the house. My feet led me along the grass, my mind spun in its world of worry and confusion. I stepped up to the porch, happy to get under shelter from the pouring rain and my shaking hands instantly knocked expressively on the wooden door.
Within a small number of seconds, the door is opened by a beautiful woman. She was dressed casually in a robe and what I assume are sweatpants underneath, but she still managed to look stunning. She was the woman who gave birth to the wonder of Kim Jennie after all.
As soon as her eyes landed on me her face lit up like the sun. She let out a sigh muttering a small 'finally' under her breath.
"Kim Jisoo." She addressed my name, smiling as she opened the door further for me to step in.
"Hi, Miss Kim." I greeted reaching my hand forward to shake hers, but she immediately pulled me into a tight hug.
"Thank you." She whispered in my ear, making me even more confused than I already was.
Thank you, for what?
"Come with me to the kitchen, "she commanded kindly, and I did as told.
As we stepped into the bright kitchen my eyes landed on a box on the kitchen island. Miss Kim picked up the velvet box before she handed it over to me. I looked her in the eyes and she gestured to the box in my hands.
I did just that and inside found a note and a tape. I pulled out the note, and like I was told, it contained directions for me.
