A few days before the ball, Hermione, Ginny and I had made our way to the dress shop in Hogsmeade. A dress was part of our school supplies list and both Hermione and I had one, but since Ginny was technically not of the age where she'd be allowed to go, she didn't have one yet. „I'm so glad Neville asked me to go! I always wanted to go to s ball!" Ginny squeaked excitedly from behind the curtains of the dressing room. Her brothers hadn't even thought about asking her, so Neville, who was too scared to ask anyone else, was so kind to ask Ginny to go with him. „Yes, that was really kind of him!" I agreed. „And it's so exciting to go dress shopping!" Hermione said. I didn't think she'd be one to like shopping, but apparently she did. „Ok, I'm coming out now!"

„You look gorgeous honey!" I said. „Neville will faint, that's how pretty you are Ginny!" Hermione agreed. „you two really think so?" Ginny asked shyly. I knew she loved the dress. „Yes we do! You look like a fairy!" I reassured her. Looking at the price tag, Ginny's face dropped. „I thought this wasn't an expensive store" she whispered. Hermione and I knew how much it cost and had already decided to help her out by paying part of it. „Well Ginny, since it's Christmas soon, Hermione and I would like to pay for part of the dress." I said and smiled. „You... really?" Ginny's face lit up. „Of course!" She ran up to us and pulled us into a group hug. „Thank you SO much girls. I really appreciate it. I love you girls!" She was so cute, and it was so nice to see her happy like that. „Now, who's excited for the ball?" I squeaked.

A few days later, it was time. Hermione and I were in the bathroom getting ready for the ball. „Viktor and Dimitri will pick us up at 6:45 p.m. and then they'll take us to the great hall." Hermione said. „I'm so excited!" she added. „Aren't you scared of having that first dance in front of everyone? I'd be terrified!" „No, actually I'm not. It'll show Ron what he's missing." She said and applied mascara onto her lashed. I chuckled. Hermione had chosen to wear a periwinkle blue dress, while I was going in a dark green dress. It was simply my favorite color and suited my hair and skin tone well. It was simple, yet I absolutely loved it.
