kyomi's pov
Kyomi hates Yori.
She hates the way Yori doesn't seem to try yet still manages to be great. The way she smirks when she knows she received a good grade or did well in training. Her stupid blue eyes. The way every time Kyomi seems to best her, Yori comes out on top soon after. Overall, Kyomi hates Yori.
Kyomi even considers wearing her 1st place medal back to class just so Yori would notice. But, she ends up leaving it at home.
Today is the day they choose their hero names. To her own surprise, Kyomi has nothing planned.
Yori probably has something planned, a whole list. And she'll laugh that I have nothing, Kyomi thinks.
She watches as Aizawa explains how it'll be done, then looks down at her board.
She writes name after name, but nothing sounds right. The only somewhat decent one she comes up with is Vision, and that's Vision. Who wants Vision as their hero name?
She's so engrossed in her own name that she doesn't pay attention to her other classmates'.
"Kyomi Inouye" Aizawa says, and she stands up to go to the front.
She feels every eye burn into her as she walks up. The feeling doesn't go away when she stands at the podium.
She wordlessly holds up her name, not wanting to say she didn't originally know what to do.
Visionary, the board reads.
They approve her name, and she goes to sit back down, her skin crawling. She knows Yori is judging her. Judging her name, her introduction.
Why can't she get Yori out of her head? She needs to stop. Every day is just 'Yori, Yori, Yori'. It's not helping her at all.
A sheet of paper is placed in front of her, stopping her train of thought. Thank god. She looks down at it, seeing that it's the list of hero offers.
Her breathing hitches. She has 3,876 offers. But, there's only one she's looking for. She runs her eyes down the list until she sees it.
Heartbreaker.
She nearly jumps when she sees it. This is it. Heartbreaker wants her. It might only be a weeklong internship, but it's her weeklong internship with Heartbreaker.
No one else's. Not Yori's.
