kyomi's pov
Kyomi is buzzing when she steps back into Heartbreaker's agency. She rushes into Heartbreaker's office, thrilled about the prospect of being back.
Even though she was only there for a week, she misses the place. The long hallways. The bright, natural light everywhere that Heartbreaker loves. The numerous pictures of Heartbreaker with Red Riot. She misses it. Maybe more than she'd like to admit.
She ignores the fact she's 15 minutes early.
Heartbreaker looks up from what she's doing and grins.
"Welcome back!"
Kyomi smiles.
"Glad to be here."
"Well, I hate to break it to you, but I did ask another girl to do the work study, too. So don't be alarmed," she says.
Okay. This will be fine. While she's a little disappointed, she should've expected it. At least she'll have the chance to make a new friend.
15 minutes pass by in what feels like 5. Kyomi is talking with Heartbreaker, not even thinking about the other girl.
1 minute later, a girl hurries in, nearly out of breath.
"Sorry, my train was late and then I got confused as to which building it was, even though it says your name, and...you can't be serious."
"Welcome!!! You must be Lightbringer! Do you mind if I just call you Yori?"
Kyomi watches Yori as the blue haired girl tears her eyes away from her.
"Um...yeah...that's fine," she sits down next to Kyomi.
Kyomi swallows. It's fine. It's just Yori.
Just....Yori....
Ignoring her heart pounding in her throat, Kyomi opens her mouth to greet her.
"Lightbringer's a weird hero name," is what comes out instead.
"You chose visionary as yours, so you don't have much room to talk," Yori retorts, still facing Heartbreaker.
"Okay! Now that we're all introduced," Heartbreaker starts, "this is what your work study will generally look like..."
Kyomi wants to quit and not work with Yori. But she won't.
So maybe she'll try to make Yori want to quit instead.
