yori's pov
The first thing Yori notices walking back into class is Kyomi looking at her weird.
Why?
She brushes it off.
Over the break, Yori had a surprising amount of time to think.
Most of her thoughts were about school, her dorm, her class ranking, where she hopes to have a work study, stuff like that. But a small part of it was about Kyomi.
Yori never realized how much three years can change someone. Well, she expected her to change, but not so much. Kyomi used to be shy, knew she was smart but didn't like others knowing, and the best person to be around.
Yori kept thinking about this one conversation they had during the final. Surprisingly, they were paired up. Yori said "fuck you", because what else would she say, to which Kyomi responded "you wish you could".
It made her laugh. But she would never tell Kyomi that. But, past Kyomi would never dream of saying that back to Yori. Or if Yori said that, she would probably not respond at all.
Just something to think about.
But, she doesn't have to bother with that at all. She sits in the back corner now, away from the back of Kyomi's head, thankfully.
So neither has to know who got higher scores. So she won't hold back a laugh at Kyomi's face when she finds out she's ranked #2 in class again.

At the end of the day, Yori is called into Aizawa's office.
"Did I do something? It's like, the first day back," she says, sitting down in the seat in his office.
"You didn't do anything. Don't worry."
There's a pause. It's dead silent.
"So why am I here?"
"A top ten hero has asked you, through me, to be her work study. I would like to know if you're interested. You have noted that you want to participate in the work-study program, and she reached out for you to work with her."
"Yeah, yeah I'd be happy to! Thanks. Also, who is the hero?"
"Did I not say her name?"
"No?"
"It's Heartbreaker."
Heartbreaker.
"Oh! Okay. Well, can you tell her I say yes? Thanks again."
"I will, but, are you okay, Hiramitsu? You seem a little shaken."
She takes a breath.
"I'm fine."
