yori's pov
Yori hates Kyomi.
Always has.
She hates the way Kyomi is always right behind her in the rankings. She hates how Kyomi knows she's good with her quirk. She hates how the other girl knows just how to get under her skin. The way her hair looks so soft, making her want to run her hand through it. The way she comes off as too perfect, from school to her work study to her overall look. So, Yori hates Kyomi.
The day before a big exam, she walks into Heartbreaker's office. There, she's faced with the sight of Kyomi sitting at a desk with what looks like 100 color coded notecards laid out.
It looks almost...endearing??
No. That can't be right.
Like she could feel Yori looking at her, Kyomi turns around. She gives a small smile and turns back to her work. Something catches in Yori's throat.
Pushing that, and the sudden nervousness she's feeling, down, Yori wonders what made her feel this way. The exam? The work day? The fact she's not studying? Or was it kyomi's smile?
Why would her smile make her feel that way?
They're friends at best. Maybe just forced allies.
While Kyomi might not feel the same, Yori regards Kyomi as a friend. Nothing less, nothing more.
She would die before people learn that.
Overall, she sees the other girl as a friend. And that's it.
But friends don't make friends feel the way she does.
