TW: At this point, I believe you know the drill. If any of you want me to continue doing trigger warnings for each chapter, please tell me. But for now, I'm going to stick to only putting trigger warnings when something new comes up. It's just getting to be a nuisance, my apologies

(A/N: For clarification, I said I tried to gain inspiration from the real author Dostoevsky's writing. I never said I succeeded. This chapter is a bit hectic. I thought it was better than it actually was when I was first writing it. Rereading it now for the second time, it kind of sucks. Have fun reading this mess then I guess)

DAY II OF CASE "SPECTRE"

(Y/N)'s Account on the "Spectre" Case:

While you were floating in the darkness, before you came across Chuuya's office, it was hard not to let your mind wander to everyone you knew. You wondered if they even knew what all of this was: a stupid man with an overpowered ability.

You wondered about Chuuya, who must've been talking with your family and telling them what happened. He would try to help the cafe while you were gone, but there was no way he'd actually believe you were gone for good. Dazai probably was vowing revenge. He had to at least catch a glimpse of the man who banished you to what seemed like an endless void, right?

Ranpo would probably try to find out what happened to you, Atsushi would cry, and as for the others, you had no clue.

After telling the Port Mafia the news, Dazai had been dividing half of his time to his new and final motivation before he planned to kill himself. He had lost all hope for the future.

Long ago, Odasaku died in his arms. He had no hope then, no idea how he could even go on. The only two people he had trusted were gone. Ango had betrayed him, and Odasaku had died. He was prepared to kill himself for real that time, until he was left with one final motivation by Odasaku.

In the end, it was all a silly pipe dream. He could never become a better person, no matter what anyone said. Additionally, he was certain that anyone he ever loved would always end up leaving him. That's why when you came along and he finally accepted the painful truth that he cared for you, he was determined to do everything in his power to keep you from leaving. Although his worries about accidentally hurting you had remained, he desperately tried to drown out his fears.

He just couldn't treat you the same that he did to everyone else. To him, other people were pieces of meat he could manipulate and he could make them do whatever he wanted them to do. Despite that, he also wanted to be one of those people, going about their days mindlessly, not caring about the darkness and lonely feeling that returned every night they came home. He also wanted to feel loved by humans.
