In combining the two dojos and actually working together that meant show casing each other's style. Both sensei's having their favorites meant they were the ones first fighting against their sensei on their new sparring deck. Daniel and Sam share the fighting style of Miyagi-do meaning when it was time for Johnny and Miguel to fight it was the exact opposite. When it came to Daniel and Johnny to spar one on one with various students on the sparring deck in front of everyone – every single one lost. Even when it was Cherish's turn she altered her fighting style to match that of the sensei she was sparing but still lost.
With things going great at the dojo meant Klaus and Odette wanted to meet the sensei's that Cherish had told them about – not all good things. Cherish may have mentioned their feud and may have called it petty and the sensei's mood movie teen girls moody.
Cherish had brought up the idea of having a dinner to the Sensei's because her parents wanted to meet them and to make it a family event Daniel offered to host. The LaRusso's having an indoor brick pizza oven settled what they were going to be eating that day. So while the parents were mingling downstairs the teens – the Luck-Marie twins not in attendance – were upstairs in Sam's bedroom.
Cherish and Miguel were good at not acting like a couple when in class – both at school and the dojo – they acted more like friends. Both being in Sam's room for the first time, they acted like friends sitting on opposite sides of the room.
Miguel was nervous, not for being in the same room as his ex and current girlfriend – mainly because they were so supportive of each other and seemed to put their friendship first. Miguel was nervous for the families meeting each other considering he's dated both daughters of the two families at the dinner. Miguel thinks he has a good relationship with Cherish's parents because he really had nothing to compare it with, and seeing how they've been inviting him to family events it was welcoming. The only thing was in those family events he got to understand how close Cherish is to her parents and how she shares a lot of her life with them. Miguel was having doubts that Klaus and Odette approve of him, or think he's not good enough for their daughter.
