Cherish's extended family had arrived in town the afternoon of the captains Sekai Taikai win. They had been meant to arrive for Cherish's graduation but could only set time for after which in a way was for the best.
It made the whole next day be filled with various Luck family bonding time. Finn, Kol, and Jackson even were able to make it, which for Cherish meant more presents and for Elijah and Freya a lot of mediating.
With about two dozen people in the Luck-Marie house all at once including three dogs - it was a busy house and a lot of food. Jackson, known for his ribs, started cooking them in the morning. Marcel had the best spicy shrimp recipe which just required marinating the shrimp and baking them. Keelin made biscuits and two different salads. Davina, having worked at a bar, was in charge of the drinks both virgin drinks and alcoholic ones. Henry made the side dishes; white rice, sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes and crispy brussel sprouts.
The backyard having two separate long family style tables was new for the Diaz family but the Luck family just had a way that invited people in. The only reason Johnny wasn't part of the celebration is because he had knocked out after training all day with Daniel.
With the big family being spread out around the tables stories couldn't be helped but be shared. Among those stories introductions were also made considering Carmen and Rosa hadn't met the extended Luck family the other times they had visited
Carmen had asked about Marcel's job having complimented his cooking skills. Marcel never being someone who outright tells someone what he does for work answers, "I help kids and sometimes families regain ownership over-"
Cherish walking back to her seat with a plate cuts her uncle off being able to hear him, "Es un abojado para niños que han sido sexualmente asaltado"
[He's a lawyer for kids who have been sexually assaulted.]
"Or you can put it like that," Marcel looks up at her understanding Spanish after years on his job only wasn't as good as his niece on picking up the language
