With Miguel and Johnny flying off home also came the unknown of if they were going to get Kenny to fly out to join them in time for the next competition. The teens wanted a night out so Hawk asked Sensei Chozen who said it was okay for them to go into town.
The teens ended up at some tapas bar which seemed to be the right spot for people their age since everyone around them was their age and Sekai Taikai members. They were even sharing half a booth with some other people they'd met.
"What are we gonna do now that Sensei Lawrence and Miguel are gone?" Devon turns to her peers to ask riddled with worry unable to enjoy the night
"Well, I heard they're gonna fly in Kenny." Hawk shrugs not knowing what the Sensei's had planned or were planning
"Yeah, 'cause the kid that shit his pants is totally gonna save the day." Demetri scoffs and raises his mixed drink in the air "Whoo!"
"Well I'd rather have Kenny, bad history and all, on our team than have to forfeit" Cherish stands up taking her soda with her
Cherish walks over to the high tables her captains were sitting at and joins them, "Hey"
"Are Hawk and Demetri fighting again?" Sam looks back at where she'd just come from
"No," Cherish sighs tiredly just not wanting to be at a bar surrounded by people having fun and knew that at some point in the night if she stayed out for too long someone was going to say something that would rub her the wrong way and it wouldn't be their fault
"I hope Carmen's okay." Robby says making Cherish raise her glass and tap it with his on the table in agreement "Did you talk to Miguel before he left?"
"Not really, I didn't know what to say and so I called my brothers to threaten them to pick up Miguel and Johnny from the airport and drive them to the hospital. Probably shouldn't have spent my time doing all of that but now..." Cherish shakes her head not wanting to dwell and overthink on how she handled it so she directs the conversation towards the boy who looked as glum as she felt "How are you feeling?"
