The strange guy at the statue

Tighnari was having a casual day. Nothing special nor evil was going on or that's what he thought.

After clearing up some nearby withering zones which only took him 20 minutes. He decided that he deserved a break and let Collei do some of the smaller tasks that he was too lazy to do.

He walked on the trail just observing the sight until he saw a short guy with a giant hat sneaking behind the trees.

"Hey, who are you!" Tighnari yells pulling out his bow. On alert, sensing the guy meant danger.

Of course, though there wasn't a response so Tighnari kept looking around, but he didn't hear or see the strange guy around. He must have run to the Statue of Seven since it's the closest thing nearby, and the only way anyone could go to this location is if they didn't know the area very well.

"Hmm, I'll have to be on high alert. Who knows what that guy's intentions are." Tighnari gripped his bow tightly and went to the village to go tell Collei to keep her eyes peeled.

At the village...

Tighnari went up to Collei who was measuring the sizes of mushrooms.

"Collei I have to warn you about something."

"What is it master Tighnari? I'm all ears!"

"Today while having a walk I saw a short man with a very large hat. The hat looked like it was from Inazuma. That's all I could see of him he was sneaking around and hiding so I don't know if he has the best of intentions, I could sense a bad aura too. I think he might have gone to the statue of seven, I'm not sure though so keep your eyes peeled and I'll keep my ears and eyes peeled."

"Alright then. I think I have heard of someone who has looked like that before, I think it was a fatui harbinger, though I'm not too sure, so I would take what I said with a grain of salt." Collei said, feeling a bit on edge now.

"I'll research it later. For now just look out for him, Ok?"

"Ok master Tighnari!"

Collei went back to measuring the mushrooms and Tighnari went to check the statue of seven to see if the guy was there.

At the Statue of Seven...

As Tighnari expected, the guy was there sitting right next to the statue. He was watching the guy from afar to see what he would do and if he was a threat or someone who just needed help.

The guy Tighnari was watching had indigo hair a large hat, and clothes that looked like it was from Inazuma. Also a strange chess piece in his hands, it was glowing purple. Tighnari was confused about why he would carry around a chess piece, and why it was glowing, but brushed it off as just something he just had on him.

The indigo-haired man seemed to have been talking to himself quietly. Tighnari couldn't hear what he was saying but could tell he was talking.

He decided to stop looking from afar and went to talk to the guy, he quickly jumped over to the platform and landed right in front of the man.

"Hmph, state your purpose, I could feel you looking at me from afar back there." The boy spoke, seemingly annoyed.

"Watch your tongue. I'm Tighnari, a forest ranger in this area. As a forest ranger, it's my duty to protect this area, so how about you state your purpose."

"Why should I tell you? You don't need to know of me, or anything relating to me. You have no purpose in my business, so stay out of it."

"If you want to stay out of trouble then tell me your purpose of being in this forest, if you're innocent then you'd have no problem telling me why you're here today," Tighnari states, even more, suspicious of the boy, getting even more annoyed at his attitude.
