Cynonari Oneshots

The longest of nights

(This chapter will be set in snezhnaya keep that in mind also fatui cyno and no Tighnari this chapter but he will be mentioned.)

The winter breeze howled as Cyno walked to the building slowly. His footprints you could see on the white snow as he walked and walked. He muttered under his breath "I wish the fatui could be a Sumerian organization instead..."

Finally making it into the restaurant he opened the door to see countless snezhnayans, and fatui sitting down and chatting. Quickly Cyno made it to a table of one and sat down, finally puffing out air as he embraced the warmth.

Then a young waiter that looked to be also part of the fatui made his way to Cyno's table.

"Why hello there Cyno... you seem to be a new harbinger? Oh, what do I have the honor! See my name is Aleksei, the famous owner of this place."

"Tch harbinger? I wish... I'm just a recruit who happened to make their way up the ranks quickly... sure I'm high up but not harbinger yet." Cyno replied.

"Well soon to be harbinger then! Is there anything you would like to order? We sell almost everything... and you can get a harbinger discount~!"

"How many times do I have to tell you I'm not a harbinger?" Cyno then sighed and followed up with, "You can sit down if you want... I have been wanting to talk to a person about my feelings for a while... and you don't seem THAT bad."

Aleksei then squealed happily and picked up a chair, he then brought it to Cyno's table and looked at him happily.

"So Cyno... have you been informed of a super special mission...?"

"Huh... no I haven't?" Cyno said confused. Aleksei then laughed.

"Oh really? Well, then I'll tell you!"

"The tsaritsa has needed to clean up the squad she works with... so a lot of blood has been shed on lower ranks and intermediate ranks... for example that guy in Sumeru I think named Elchingen who ran that crazy fungi event... just recently after he got arrested we got a fatui agent to assassinate him after his escape, sadly though the 4th descender found out about this.."

Cyno then shrugged "what does that have to do with me?"

"Well, you'll see..."

The serious look on Aleksei's face quickly changed to a rather silly one.

"Anyways do you have anything you want to tell me, comrade?"

Cyno thought in his head about how stupid this person took him. Cyno saw right through his silly "I mean no harm!" personality but didn't want to call him out yet.

"Oh well I have been a bit sad that I have to work under Pierro... for some reason, that guy just doesn't sit well with me..."

"Yeah, Pierro is close to the worst ones you could have gotten... not as bad as Scaramouche or La Signora though... Luckily for you, La Signora died a while ago and Scaramouche has disappeared so you won't have to worry about getting them anytime soon."

"I heard Tartaglia was a good one but I don't know yet," Cyno said.

"Tartaglia? Oh, that guy is AMAZING! Definitely one of the best ones to get! Unlike all the other harbingers he is fun to be around and won't kill his employees unlike Scaramouche or La Signora. His employees are HAPPY to work under him and have a fun time doing it! Overall definitely one of the best."

Cyno then rolled his eyes. He didn't think that the Tartaglia dude could have been THAT great... they are hyping him up too much...

"Also, have you heard of a scholar called Tighnari?"

Aleksei then started to nod. "Yes, I have! I heard he has quite large ears. I bet he can hear is talking about him right now cause of how big they are!"

Cyno then chuckled a bit "yeah probably... though unlike other scholars Tighnari is... different..."

"I guess you could say that... I mean I assume other scholars don't have giant ears!"

Cyno chuckled a bit more "yeah I guess you could say that..."

Aleksei then stood up "hold on comrade imma go and get us some drinks! Don't worry this is on me comrade no pay is needed from you!"

Aleksei then went to his bar and got to work on the two drinks. While he was gone Cyno thought about Tighnari... what would he think about what he was doing, or what would he think about what path he took? Would he be disappointed? Or would he not care? Cyno's trail of thoughts was then stopped by Aleksei slamming down the two drinks onto the table.

"Enjoy comrade!"

Cyno and Aleksei then started chugging.

A couple of minutes later both Cyno and Aleksei were done.

"Well I'm gonna have to leave now... it was nice meeting you Aleksei."

Cyno then walked out of the building back into the cold winter land known as snezhnaya.

After about 10 steps though Aleksei then rushed out the door and yelled "Cyno, wait! The tsaritsa has a letter for you!"

Cyno then turned around as Aleksei rushed to his side and handed him the letter.

"Here take it I was gonna give it to you but since we were having so much fun I kind of forget about it..."

Cyno then chuckled "well at least you still remember in the end!"

They both then laughed and waved goodbye.

Cyno then walked back into the city with the letter in his hand as the cold breeze whooshed beside him and his footprints were stained into the snow.

That was a good night for Cyno.
