Tighnari and Cyno were sitting in their house. Collei was looking at some forms about how she would join the annual Mondstadt gliding festival that summer.
The family was getting ready to add a new member as Collei has wanted a little sister for a while.
"So shall we go to the Sumeru adoption center today, or shall we wait till tomorrow?" Cyno asked looking at Tighnari and Collei.
"I would prefer today since I'm excited to finally get a younger sibling, but of course, it's your decision and I should be grateful you even listened to my requests," Collei said clicking her pen in a rushed matter.
"It would be better to go today anyway. After looking at some past reports, there seems to be less activity on these days so we can find more candidates." Tighnari yawned resting his hands behind his head.
Cyno rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
"It's not like hiring someone to work in a company Tighnari it's a child that is going to be in our family that we'll raise and treat with care and love. Not a looking for work employees were knowing which days there are usually better ones come."
Tighnari quickly piped in "Well it's similar so I was just saying." The comment Tighnari left made Cyno sigh a sigh of disappointment.
"Well we all agree we should go today so let's get going!" Tighnari yelled making the room atmosphere a bit lighter.
Collei quickly got her important bag and rushed out the door. Cyno and Tighnari quickly followed her.
At the adoption center...
"Finally we're here!" Collei chirped excitedly.
Tighnari took her hand.
"Yep let's go look to see the children around!"
Both Tighnari, Cyno, and Collei walked over to where they kept the children. While walking around they saw a little girl with short white hair and green eyes.

"Hi-"
Before Tighnari could finish his sentence the girl quickly ran away to the next corner.
The family quickly chased after her wondering why she ran away after seeing them. Was Tighnari that ugly? To be fair his haircut could be better, and his hands are usually full of dirt.
After a while of more chasing the child blessed with dendro finally stopped and turned to look at the Sumerian family.
"Hello there. I seem you to want to adopt me correct?"
Collei nodded "Yes I've been looking for a younger sister and you look like a good person!"
The little girl smiled a bit but it quickly faded.
"Are you sure I'm the best candidate though? There are plenty of other children around these parts. All of them I can assure you a better cho-"
The girl got cut off.
"No don't say you're worse than other children! I can bet you are a good, kind, sweet, and lovely person who is as good if not better than other children your age!"
The little girl smiled.
"Then it would be my pleasure to join your community."
She then continued her statement by saying
"I see the god of dendro also looked upon you and your teacher with favor. Meaning that you too are probably the best of the element I can bet."
Collei gave her a shocked look.
"How do you know that he's also my teacher?"
"I had a feeling." The little girl replied.
Cyno then opened his mouth.
"Well since we are all happy with this one why don't we go fill out the papers?"
"Yeah let's go!"
Tighnari and his 2 other members went to the desk. The little girl followed them.
Once they made it to the desk Collei said.
"Hello we would like to adopt-"
Collei turned around to see the little girl blessed by the dendro archon was gone.
"She was just here? You guys know if the child you have with a white ponytail to the side and a dendro vision right?"
The workers looked at her confused at said
"We don't have a child like that here?"
Collei looks at the people with an expression of shock and confusion. Tighnari grabbed her hand and said
"We'll be taking our leave now but thank you!"
Tighnari then pulled Collei out of the building. Cyno followed them out.
"Hey, Collei I'm sorry we couldn't find you a little sister but maybe another time we could," Tighnari reassured.
"Yeah Collei maybe next time," Cyno added.
"It's ok..." Collei said with sadness in her voice.
They both then walked home.
Outside the family home...
Collei and Tighnari opened the door to see the little child of dendro sitting in front of the door happily smiling at them holding a tiny dendro smile.

The little girl stood up and let the dendro smile go. It happily hopped out of the household and went to the river with its family.
Collei happily ran and hugged her.
"How did you get here and how did you disappear?" Collei asked putting her down.
"Time and time again I will appear and disappear, like a dendro smile." The little girl replied.
"We'll all be happy to have you part of the family little dendro slime!" Tighnari said smiling happily at her.
"And I'm happy to be part of such a wonderful place too." The little girl went to hug Tighnari.
"I'm also happy to have a new wonderful father."
"What about me?" Cyno piped.
"Well, you too of course!" The little girl replied going to hug Cyno.
"We are all happy to have to be part of the family little sis!"
