Zayn's POV:Leo looks back at me. His eyes were distant as if he was reliving what happened with Jess years ago.
Never again. I will never allow myself to feel this weak again. This hopeless! I will never allow this to happen again. I will never be the reason someone I love gets hurt again!
I watch as Leo's eyes turn dark
"Wait. Leo, no, stop it." I speak, trying to pull him out. He can't do this now. Audrey can't handle this. She'll need him when we get her back. She'll need us both.
"Leone!" I raise my voice, trying to snap him out of it. Ignoring all the confused looks I'm getting from the others, I focus everything I have on him.
He glances at Daniel; then rushes out of the room and up the stairs.
"Cazzo," I hiss, turning to follow him. "Stay here. Get information on Elijah, Elio too we can't assume he still has no idea of his father's plan. Find them both. Find out where Audrey is. We need to find her before..." I pause not wanting to say that we needed to find her before he kills her and the babies. "We need to find them" I simply say, turning and running up the stairs into Leo's room. Leo's the only one who has his own designated room in the house.
I turn into Leo's room to see it empty, so I continue down the hall into my room.
I walk in to see him shirtless, pulling on a pair of black pants. "Leo," I start, but he just ignores me. Pulling on a tight black shirt. Pulling open a drawer and grabbing a pair of black socks; sitting on the bed and pulling them on.
"Why are your clothes in here and not your room?" I try again, just trying to get him to acknowledge me, but he turns his head away from me instead and stands up
"Beniamino, this isn't your fault. I know what you're doing. You can't just march over to Elijah's and demand her back. Trust me, you know that I want to as well, but we have to be smart about this. This is not your fault. The last time you rushed somewhere to get revenge for your girl you almost fucking died, Lee. You almost fucking died because you took off and I didn't find you in time!" I start to panic as I watch him lose control.
"You could get there and he could kill you on the spot. He needs Audrey to marry Elio. He needs to combine his family with hers. That way Elio gets the power that she has. He doesn't know that she's already signed a marriage contract. He has no idea what we've done. We need to ensure it stays that way. If he finds out she's promised away he may kill her anyway. You can't just march in there and tear the place apart looking for her." I try to get through to him, watching him put his jacket on.
"Daniel was right. This is all my fault. I should have sent more guards. I shouldn't have listened to her. I should have just done my job and sent the same six I always send. I shouldn't have let her get to me, I let my feelings for her get in the way. I let her soften my resolve. I can never let that happen again, I swore this would never happen again. This happened because of me. She was taken because I didn't do my job!" He glares at me, standing from the bed and continuing,
"She's god knows where with god knows what happening to her! And she's pregnant. She's fucking pregnant! I fucked up, Zayn. I let my guard down, I let her down and now she's gone, and she's pregnant and alone and probably so fucking worried. This is all my fault, again! I didn't protect her, and now I'm going to lose the love of my life, again!" He continues to glare, stepping towards me.
"Why aren't you yelling at me? Why aren't you punishing me? I should be dead right now Zayn! You should be killing me! She's pregnant! With your babies! That doesn't make you want to go in there and tear the place apart looking for her!? You're the big bad Lucifer. Kill me. Prove you're who everyone says you are! Kill me, Lucifer!" He challenges, stopping to stare at me.
